Mail Agent R. J. SHERMAN died this morn
ing, at the residence of his father-in-law, J. (
O. FROST. The funeral will take place

guilty, they deserved to be severely punished, :
but if they wore innocent of the otVeiiseeharg- i
ed, it is cruel to stigmatize them by bringing |
iu such a verdict.

Superintendent's Notes.
Feb. 9. —Visited tin 4 following schools of
Terry: Viall, Abbie Viall; Norway Ridge,
Miss A. I'. Fanning; Tyrrell, Martha Beards-
Icy; Windfall, Teresa llorton. Heard of no
dissatisfaction, except at the Ty rrell, where j
two or three large boys are allowed by |
parents to almost run the school. Barents
should not shirk the responsibility and ex-j
pect lady teachers to act as slave or mule '
drivers. Better discipline the mules at home,
or keep them home; for one such, disregard
ed by parents, or winked at aud sustained,;
may ruin what would otherwise he a first
class school.
