condition of (Samuel Bowles, publisher
of the Springfield " Republican," was
reported much improved to-dav. Mr.
Boiwlea was stricken with what ap
peared to be a cerelbral hemorrhage but

dition might be due to toxic congestion
and hope is still held out for his recov
