TO RECEIVE REWARDS FOR DESTROYING A SUBMARINE Mnrc.h 4, 2.40 P. M.—The statement of the captain of the collier Thordis, which arrived at Weymouth two days ago, that his vessel had rammed and destroyed a German sub marine oil Beachy Head, appears to have been substantiated. The captaiu and crew of the Thordis probably will receive in consequence rewards amount ing to $5,800 which had been offered 'bv various agencies to the first mer chantman which sank a submarine. The Thordis went into dry dock at Plymouth to-day. It was then learned that one of her propeller blades had been torn oft and that her keel was damaged badly, indicating the force with which the craft struck the sub marine. 13
