SAID AC,IDENT.—A Mr. Phillips, of,
Niles Valloy met with a sad accident on the let
inst. . Oa hi ' way home, a short distance below
town: his ho ses became frightened and unman
agestiel, • thr wing Mr. I% violently upon the
groun4brui ing him terribly, and tearing the
flesh nearly off his note. Dr. Thompson dressed
the wound, and placed tho flesh back on the
nose, which is healing nicely.
SAD ACCIDENT.—A young lad, - by
the name of A. Labor, TS shot on the 28th of
November, and instantly killed, under the follow
ing circumstances : It appears that he and ano
ther lad were out hunting, and when returning
home, his comrade fell, and his gun went off, the
ball passing through the heart .of Labar. His
funeral took place at Sabinsvillo on the 29th ult.,
and was largely attended.

RAILROAD ACCIDENT.--Tile Elmira
Advertiser chronicles the following wieldent,
which occurred near that city, at Pleteher's cross
ing, on the sth instant. The engineer of the
train reports a wagon aa r standing on the cross
ing, and though the usual signals were given,
there was no attempt to get* out of the way of

TIOGA RESURRECTED. —We were
agreeably surprised, on visiting Tioga village on
Thursday last, to see upon its. rains-,largo and
handsome brick buildings oreoted, which reminds
one of the resurrection of Pompeii. We do not
wish to be understood that Tioga slumbered 1800
+um, as did Pompeii; but that it has. - airung
up, as it were, almost in n day, having burned

brick block erected by Mr. B. C. Wickham, is

and, when finished inside, will be convenient for
the various kinds of business to be conduct_e k in
it. The first story will be occupied by the Vega

guilty of the crime, but the foot of bit making;
his escape - from the officer goes a great way to
establish his guilt in the minds of quite a num

The village of Liberty, notwithstanding the
several audacious attempts to . reduce it to piles,
is steadily groWing and improving in appear;

fer have each erected themselves a fine dwelling
house, and have had them finished up in good
taste, which adds very much to the appearance
