Mrs. and Mr. George W. Merrick. •
:You've lived five - years as man and wife,
And find it very good ;
And now, to. mark advance ip i life; • t
Are gathering bits or wood !

My tribute to your feast;
And thus, with others, bring a share,

So take my bit of / woody rhyme, • -
The growing pile to s well ;
While, at the close of five years' time,
Still peals your marriage bell.
It comes in sport, yet earnest, too :
Ireart•prayer 'neath wordy Icreen ;
Like far-tree, covered o'er sittti,PiMit,

In life and love, may you twain bo
Like two twin cedars, green ;
Your virtues tough as hickory;
Eim-like, in graes,'your mien.
Bright be your lot as cherry blow;
'Your joys as maple sweet ;
Your mutual trath_keep love aglow
With steady birch-fire beat.
With heart of oak may yoti bear up,
Should storms your pathway sweep ;
If hemlock mingles in your cup,
May you not pine nor weep.
May stately ash the emblem be
Of parents' honest pride,
In saplings of the parent tree

May olive plants around you grow
And thrive, like—schools of perch*; ..---• -
And they be trained,—if—row—you know,—

TIOGA RESURRECTED. —We were
agreeably surprised, on visiting Tioga village on
Thursday last, to see upon its. rains-,largo and

the various kinds of business to be conduct_e k in
it. The first story will be occupied by the Vega
