pared to hay to advantage, but 'skillful
,ocn may te employed to buy for oth
ers; this k already done to some ex-
ttit, and the business can be extended
• )as to accommodate all. But, after
:111, the manure should be the malwob
,:tet, and a leading question be how to
obtain this for profit, and a fair market
:.rice for the feed besides. In profits
ole farming, the land‘must,be kept up,
end bernyar I manures must 'be largely
used for this purpose. The amount rind
value of these manares will of course
' . depend largely on the \ kind of feed
given; An auirnal fed wholly on hay
and grain, in the uanal way, will make
i teller manure than would be the case
if-both were well cooked, as in the lat
ter case the feed would be more, thor-
Litighly digested, and less of the valu
able properties passed"ln the manure.--t 1
:'-\), too, such n mlXture of grain,-hay,-
cornstalks and straw no above referred
to, well steamed, will make less vain
abielnanure than hay and grain - alone.
ll,ence, whenever feed is purchased,
regard should be had to that which is
best 'for making manure as well ns for
feeding. For instance, in' buying• hay
Lt will be best to get clover hay, as that
contanis a large amount of nitrogen,
and is worth about twice as much as
-,,
common hay for making manure. At
the same time, good, fine, bright, early
cut clover hay, is better for fattening
cattle anil sheep. So clover hay is the
best to buy, and this is especially the
case where, as In many places,l such
y
na is the cheapest. For the same rea
-son, the large amount of nitrogen, peas
should have the preference when they
• can be bought for the same price as corn.
And se too, where neither peas nor
clover-hay can be fed, but some kind of
grain must be purchased, it will be
beit to buy a portion of oileake, say
enough to feed one pou,nd of oileake to
three or four of grain. Oileako is not
only very fattening, bnt it helps large
• ly in making rich matiure—it contains,
more nitrogen than any other, feed
that Will be fed, while a high authority
thihnson) says the nitrogen is mainly
passed in the manure. In making ma
nure for wheat and other cereal crops
this is very important, as nitrogenous
6 - ianures are most needed for these
grains, and it is very probable that
where neither clover hay nor peas can
be fed, it would pay to feed a smallpor
tion of oihneal even if no grain has to
be purchased. At any rate it should
t,e an•object with every wheat grower
to - Auntie rich, nitrogenous manures,
and In order to do this, to provide plen
ty of the best and cheapest feed N-ithin
ids reach for this purpose. Of course
;his ought to be clover, as the rowth

oihneal should be giveh. It, should al-
ways be kept
in f lad that the quality 1
of the manure A epends largely upon 1
the kind of feed given'; that the, more
thoroughly the feed is prepared and 1

hair is thictened, falling hair checked,
and baldness often, though not always,
cured by its use. .Nothing can restore
the hair where the follicles are de-
Stroyed, or the - glands atrophied and
decayed; but such as remain can be
saved by this application, and stimu
lated into activity, so that a new
. growth of hair is produced. Instead
of fouling, the .paip-wi;k- a pasty sedi

Its oceasiciaattise will pre - tient the hair
from 'turning gray or falling off; and
,consequently prevent baldness. The
restoration of vitality it gives to the
scalp arrest's and prevents the forma
tion of dandruff, which is often so un
cleanly and offensive. Free from those
deleterious substances which make
some preparations dangerous and inju
rious to the hair, the Vigor can only
benefit but nut harm it. If wanted
merely for a HAIR DRESSING,
nothing else eau be found so desirable.
