The Crawford System.
Editor Agilator.—T hear it urged as
an objection to that part of the Crawford System
reeently addrited by the Ropublican party of Ti

to ;reflect that the very object of. this system is to'

suggest as an , ;amendment to the Crawford
sy tetn, that the president of the late Convention,
wh is authorized to appoint a new Connty Com

and intelligent Republican ,in each election 'dig.'
trigt as a member of the County Cormuittee;tand
the member so appointed shall be ex-officio a
member of the Vigilance Committee of each town
ship and borough, whose duty it should bo to bring
to Wcltsboro each year the returns of the prima

Coontnittee, eaelphaving with him the ' , expressed

bullbut each empowered to act, for the best interests

It c may be urged as an objection to this pro..

,the County ,Committeo
W41(1 he too large and unwieldy 'for. executive

R. T.
—We cordially endorse the above, and believe
ho Republicans will sanction the system as
•gesteil. The old plan of sending delegates to .
/o the nominations, is many times unsafe to'
c. , .st (or, rather, new) politicians, and hence a
lit deal of diilsatisfiletion in the party. This

ness, as tho largest number of votes riOnal•

to the question of nomination, instead of
igates to represent tliii people and barter

is sensible, timely, and Republican. Our cd
