English was passing a house lately va eated, about half a mile from this village on the Charleston Road, Friday forenoon, 20th ult., ho digeovered the body of a child hanging by the head from a window. On his arrival he found the girl quite dead, though the body bad been released from its hanging position daring Mr. English's absence. It proved to' be the body of alittie girl' of Mr. D. H. Updike's, of Charleston, and about twelve years old. * She had , evidently raised the window to look inside, when , n fell, catching her by the neck.
