BE 'Up AND DOINGi.—Who ever be
comes a man of iEldllllll6o by, sitting under the
harrow of despondency? What drone ever ben
efits the world, his friends, or himself? There is
nothing like action coupled with cheerfulness.—
We see it everywhere. Who is ho sitting on that
empty barrel at the corner? A man with no en
ergy, a prey to grief. He does not know what to
r ilo, and how to start. Who is that man standing
in the salcaM ? A lazy, do-little sort of a vaga
bond, who hardly earns his bread and butter.—
Do you wish to become such a character? 'lf
not, arouse yourself; away from the arm chair,
up from the gutter,:out of the downy bed ! Move
your arms,-kick your feet, and stir about; give
the blood a chance to circulate through the veins,
and the air of heaven to enter your lungs. Seize
the first job presented, and dispatch it at once;
up for the day and get another forthwith; you
will soon earn enough to_ purchase a wheelbar
row or a hand cart, and then
„)on will begin to
lire. Who knows what you may become ?
orgy is half oninipoterit. Small beginnings endin
large gains; a penny well turned brings a for
tune. Resolve then to do sonicthing, and be
something, and our word for it, you will bless us
to your dying day for our plain-spoken advice.

Ayer's Pills.
you sick, feeble and com
plaining? Ape you out of or
der—your system deranged and
your Feelings uncomfortable?—
These symptoms are often the pre
• cursors of serious illness. Some
fit of sickness is creeping upon you, and should
be averted by a timely use of the right remedy.
Take Ayer'a Pills, and dri'e out the humors—
purify the blood, and let the fluids move on un
obstractedly, in health. They stimulate the or
gans of the body into vigorous activity, purify
the system from the obstructions which make dis
ease. A cold settles somewhere in the body, and
deranges the natural operations of that part.—
This, if not relieved-, will react upon itself and
the surrounding organs, producing general ag
gravation, suffering and derangement. While in
this condition, take dyer's Pills, and see how di
rectly they r&store the natural action of the sys
tem, and with it the buoyant feeling of health.—
What is true and so apparent in this trivial and
common complaint, is also true in many of the
deep seated and dangerous diseases. Tha same
purgative expels them. Caused by similar ob
structions and derangements, they are surely, and
many of them rapidly, cured by the same moans..
None who know the virtue of these Piilswili neg
leetto employ them when suffering from the
ills
-orders they cure, snob as headache, foul stom
ach, dysentery, iliiiol.lA complaints, indigestion,
derangement 4 the liver, costiveness, constipa
tion, heartistirn, rheumatism, dropsy, worms and
suppressiote, when taken in large doses.
They are sugar coated, so that the most sensi
tive can take them easily, and they are surely
the best purgative medicine yet discovered.
Ayer's Ague Cure,
For the speedy and certain Cure of Inturmitient
Fever, or ()hate and Fever, Remittent Fever ,
Chill Fever, Dumb Ague, Periodical Headache*
or Bilious Headache, and Bilious Fever
deed for the whole dues of diseases originating .
in bilearg derangement, caused by the malaria of
miasmatic countries.
This remedy has rarely failed to ears the se
verest eases of Chills and Fever, and it has this
great advantage over other Ague medicines, that
it subdues the complaint without injury to the
patient. It conno quinine or other delete—
rious substance, silifdoes it produce quiniem or
any injurious etfitit whatever. Shaking broth
ers of the army and the west, try it and you will
endorse these assertions.
