touching the new pork disease
"A case of the new pork disease occurred in•
Marion, about twenty miles from this -placer - re.
cently. Of eight persons who ate of sugar cured
haw, six died, and the remaining two are in a
critical condition. O i rt a post tuortern exatnina
illin, the flesh of the victims was found alive - with
trichina, or little worms, very plainly visible un
der the microscope. The victims fell sick about
four weeks after eating of the ham."
For the benefit of those who persist in 'eating
