A sad accident occurred here on the 17th in

was itistantlrkilled. He was on the last car of
a coal train, returning home. The train com

Of a Fenian demonstration in that place, on
it. Patrick's Day, be giielthe'following d'escrip

" The Marshal of the day was mounted, and
wore a green badge. The members of the order
wore a green rosette. The Morris Bun Band 'dis
coursed sweet music, and all went " merry as a
woniage bell.
" The programine consisted of a procession and
a few extempore remarks, but no set speeches:
also a sapper and ball. The flag was of green
sill medium size, with yellow fringe border, and
the Aar. surmounted by an eagle. In *he neuter
of the fin_ was a rising sun, with the legend—
' Our ray of hope.' On the reverse was the Harp
of Erin and the legend—' Erin go Drab.'
" The display was highly creditable to the or

"Business is dull at present; work at the mines
