OCZOLA — This little village on the Cowanesque
is one of the most prosperous in the county. It
contains about 50 families, it has a steam tan
nery and Door Ic Sash factory, both employing a
good many hands; four seures;two blacksmiths'
s hops, two shoe shops, one cooper shop, and one
wagon shop. A•eorreepogdent thinks that if they
fad oil there the village; will become a port of
e ntry. Hope they will find it.

train. The afternoon train to Corning will arrive

Tioga county - has 234 Schools, the average atten
dance on which is 6,048?; average number of
months taught 5,58; male teachers 28; female
298; average wages of males $33,81; of females,
$28,03 ; amount of ta* levied for School pur
poses, $3,960,27; amennt received from all
sources, -222,872,20 ; exPended for instruction,
contingencies, bnildiugi tc., 238.960,83 ; balance
in treasuries, $3,200 ; permanent debt $B6O ;
tetriporery debt, $863,97. Tioga boro pays the
highest wages, Delmarqms the; largest number of
schools, and Charleston - the bighest number of
scholar..

.11zsr A DAIRT.—This is pre em 'neatly a graz
ing county, and whoever lives to see fifteen years
from this time will live to see Tioga co unty in
the front rank of butter , cheese, and stockraising
counties. While largo crops of wheat, oats, and
barley can be produced on our soil, it is now
admitted that none of these grain crops are cer
tain enough to make it profitable to Oast). the
grain. Our soil is not only nistinilii gran-pro
ducing, but the grass is of a very enperior quality
for stock.
We therefore urge farmers "to turn their atten
tion, as well as their - capital, to dairying. There
ought to be two-dozen cheese faetories in this
county before Dolt June. Charleston, alone.
Willi:are three. Nearly every other township wo'd
add ten per cent. to the present value of its im
proved farina by folkowing ber example. In this
way Tiogi County can be made-one of the rich
est comities is the State. • ,
