LOSS OF LUMBER.—The Clinton RE
rust:max says that the recent ice , ;freshet . in the
West Branch carried out from fifteen to seventy
live millions of logs from the streams above. It
thinks that the actual total loaf,' to lumbermen,
still not be less than 30,000,000 fret. This flood
is said tot) the most destructive aver experienced
on the West Branch.

Semen, of Lawrenceville, near Corning, a fear
hours later. Bemon was about 25 years old.
