Mr. Bailey said nobody was to be slaughtered; the whole ticket would be elected.• He wantedlt under stood that when any of these "Liberals" were named to fill a place they must stand up straight and manful ly, and not 'Then Mr. Henry Palphramond arose to defend Prof. Winters for declining to serve on the committee; and Mr. Bailey replied, " Yes; Prot Winters is all right I" Mr. V.
