• lands belonging to this company are situated in
the immediate vicinity of this place, and are
heavily timbered with the largest growth of
white oak.lpine, and hemlock, and front esti
mates made by reliable pazties.the value there

are already erected three steam saw-Mills
the neighborhood, with facilities for preparing I

certained recent examinations and surveys,'
made by Professor Lesley, of Philadelphia,and

ticularly suitable for gas purposes; as one of the

States batested it, and obtained a result of

10,609 to the: ton -of 2,240 pounds. It also made
1,600 pounds of first quality coke to the ton ,:of
coal. It has likewisen used ns fuel for lo
tomotiva,', blackshitbs' use, Mod iron-working
generally,' and pronounced very superior, being
almost entirely free from sulphur: Competent
j ndges have examined this coal and pronounced
it equal to the finest Liverpool coal for family
use. TheiThiladelpbia and Erie Bailroad Co.

For the successful development of this very
valuable property it is now proposed to form a

forty shares of ten thousand dollars each.

nessed, It seems to have struck the earth in I
tye foith of an oblige whirlwind, about fifty 67.1

Timothy Rime, in the torn of Bingliam,Potter
Co„ Pa. It Was some thirty or forty reds in
width 'and a mile in length. It latterly demol
ished everything in its path—fences trees, and
buildings, even tearing up vegetables in the
gatdens.- One new framed horse, encloaed and
shingled, one barn. a cow horse, a milk house,
sod other out houses were deatroved. Some
other buildings Were damaged. feails, boards,
and timbers were carried several hundred feet
high in the air. The rain fell in a perfect torrent
