We tall the attention of all having reltilions
or friends in the army tothe fact that "HOOF
LAND'S German Bitters" will ture nine tenths
of the diseases induced' bl exposares' and
privations incident to camp life. In the lists,
published almost daily in the newspapers, on
the arrival of the sick, it will be noticed that
a very large proportion ate suffering from de
bility. Every case of that kind can be read
ily cured by Eloofland's (Merman Bitters.--
Diseases resulting from disorders'of the diges
tive organs are speedily removed. We have
no hesitation in stating that if these Bitters
mere freely need among out: soldiers; hun
dreds of lives knight be saved that'.other
wise will be lost.
We tall particular attention to the follow
ing remarkable and well authenticated cure
of one of the nation's heroes, whose life, to

Masses. Jona Si; Evess.—Well, gentlemen,
your Hootland German Bitters has saved my
ltfe. There is no mistake in this. rt, is
vouched for by numbers of my comrades,
some of whose names are appended, and who
were fully eonizant of all - the circumstances
of my - case. , I am, and have been for the last
four years, a member of Sherman's celebrated
battery, and tinder the immelliate tom-
Mend of 'Capt. B. Ayres. Through the
exposure attendant Upon my arduous duties,
I was attacked in November last with ittflam
atioaof the lungs, and was for seventy-two
days in the hospital. This was followed by
great debility, heightened' by aii, aftaek of
dysentery. I was then removed from The
White rionatt, and sent to 'this city on board
the Steamer "State of Maine " fram which I
landed oa the 28th of Tune. Since that time
I have been about as low ai any one could be
and• still retain a spark of vitality,. FOr a
'Week or morel Was scarcely able to swallow
anything, and if I did force a morsel dowry, it
was immediately thrown np again.
I could not even keep a glass of water on
ray stomach. Life could not last under Bitch
circumstances; and, accordingly the physi
cians who had been working faithfully, tho'
unsuccessfully, to rescue me from the grasp
of the dread Archer, frankly told the they
could do no more for me, and advised me tb
see a clergyntan, and to make Bath dispoti
tian of my limited funds as best suited me.
An acquaintance who visited me, at the hes&
vital, air. Frederick Steinbrein, of Sixth below
Arch Street, advised me, as a forlorn, hope,
to try your Bitters, and kindly procured a
bottle. From the time I commenced taking
them the gloonty shadow of death receded,
and I am now, thank God'far it, getting bet
ter. Though I have 'taken but two bottleft, I
have gained ten .ponnds, and I feel. sanguine
of being Werinitted •to rejoin my .wife'-and
daughter, from wham I have heard nothing
for
,eighteen months ; for. gentlemen; i am a
loyal Virginian, from the vicinity of, 'Front
Royal.' To your invaluable-Bitters I owe the
certainty of life which has taken the place 'of
vague fears—to your Bitters - will I owe the
glorious privilege of again clasping to my
bosom those who are dearest to sue in life.
