ranks of his gallant regiment, and ex

erations of the draft. This throws ali
who served in the nine months' regiments
into the classes liable to draft. They still
have one advantage over other men, and
but one, that is, they get a bounty of
F. 402 tliey enlist, while others get only
$1302. No doubt many of them will new
"go in;" Those who were drafted in
1562, ill also be liable to draft.
The Harrisburg Telegraph makes
a powerful and well-timed appeal to the
unconditional Union men of tbisCommon
wealth to commence and energetically
prosecute the work of organization pre
paratory to the 'presidential election.
Whatlis primarily needed is the dissent
inatioh of knowledge on the vital questions
at issite among the people. This is a
labor of no less' magnitude than impor
tance, It is second only to the reinforce
ment of the armies in the-field. We com
mend the matter, in an especial manner,
to the consideration of those gentlemen
who have the Union ordanization of this
county in their hands.
