The Homo Jourr4 'for.- 1863:
ibITED BY MORRIS k , WILLIS
We hai'e much pleasure 'in. Worming the
public thig on of contribUtors'for the
coining year will ,be nur friend and colleague
. ,THEODORE & FAY.. ,
Pe confess . to uncoinniort pride and 'pleasure
In this renewal of intercourse with the friend
andintimate of other days, and we look to be
felicitated 'for it, by the established readers
• who constitute the family of nye Home Journal.
But we:bave in preparaticin, for the, coming
year, several •
VERY THRILLING STORIES.
Some of the ableat of living pens are engaged
for ns, in translating from the French and
German ;. and our-omn original narrative wri
ters are among thefirst.
' We are fortunate, also, in • travelers gone
abroad: who arc literary contributors, and we
are anticipating for our readers a most agree
able surprise in the quality of these -
s'ketches of Travels and adventures.
But the feature of our journal which we
have not yet' mentioned is perhaps the.most
recherehe.of all, its prominence ns •
The Exponent of Refined Society.
Onrcorrespondence with the leaders of fashion
in New York and the other capitals, is espe
cially valuable in this respect, keeping us un
. mistakably informed of the changes and pro
gress of what is commonly understood by the
"gay woild." As we have taken some pains
to arrange the resources of this new feature,
we speak confideutiy of its promise cl enter
tainment to oar large circle of readers. In
this department, foreign journals are endlesslY
' inventive ; and; with our industrious ransack
ing of these, we are sum to select, for the pe•
collar taste to which we minister, a most re
lishing banquet.
THE EDITORS
' .Will give the Journal their constant attention;
'as betpre. or the goings on, in the eventful
scenes - and places of the Country. Mr. Willis'
pen will give photographs, as usual. General
Morris's Songs and Sketches will be embroi
dered on the thread of the passing .nioinent,
as they stave always been. Some of the best
intellects of the land are enlisted for us, also,
and we think we may promise to hold our
place as the journal ivhich hest enabl6s the
Family to. lr..!ep conversant with the World.

Employment,.
For upwards of three years . past, -I have
been engaged in a business, whim] has yielded
me at the rate of Three Thousand Dollars per
annum, but being desirous of going to Europe
in the course of a few mouths for ,the purpose
of there introducing the business, lam willing
to teach it to nay one who will send me One
Dollar. The business is no humbug, but of a
highly useful and general character, adapted
both to cities and villages, and one that any
person of ordinary capacity, young or old,
male or female, can acquire with a few hours'
practice, and by which they can secure a very
handsome income. Several young ladies who
have received instructions from me, both in
New York State and Pennsylvania, are earn
ing upwards of Fifteen Dollars pei week by it,l
and there is no reason why any one else can-
bot do the same. Invalids, even, can do well
by it, as it i? no peddling atrair. but a businest
that is perfectly respectable. Gentlemen and
ladies of leisure nho would line to le.trn the
business for their own amusement or Pleasure,
will find the practice of it a pleasant pastime.
and one that they will take great interest in.
On receipt of One Dollar I will send printed
instructions by which any person can readily
acquire the art, and these instruOons will
also contain every particular relative to thel
carrying it on so that it will be highly profit
able. - The purchaser of the "printed instruc
tions" will also be authorized to teach it to
others ; and I hare sometimes received as high
as Two Hundred Dollars for teaching it Per
,onally to a single individual. I would state
further, that Two Dollars and Fifty Cents or
Three Dollars will' buy' everything that is
necessary td commence the * business with;
and the rtivrfes l ean got almost anywhere,
in city or counti t y, or, if preferred, I can fur
nish 'them. Address,

Dentists of New York recammena them as the
best known to the profession. Without the

The Editor of the Brooklyn Dail:q Times says :
"We are happy to know that our - friend, Dr.

With his Mouth Wash and Tooth Pbwder. "The
great secret of his success rests With the fact
that his articles are precisely what they are
