Cherokees, 2,504 slaves; Creeks, 1,651
slaves; Chickasaws, 917 slaves. One of
the Chocktaw planters is the owner of
226 slaves, and ten of the largest planters
of that tribe average 64 each. Among
the Cherokees the largest planter owns
57 slaves, and the ten largest averoge 43
each. Among the Ohickasaivs, the largest
planter owns, 61 slaves, the ten largest
average 271 each.
