1A large fire occurred in Elmira on the
night of the first inst., involving O. loss of over
. $175,000 worth of property,with no insurance.
The fire burned the paint shop, car shop, two
Blacksmith shaps,.•antL the Superintendent's
office of the Erie Railway Co. The loss falls
very heavily% upon those employed in the
works as they lost the principal part of their
tools, and are also thrown out of immediate
employment..
