WORTH, aged 9 years and 6 months.
JENNIE was a gentle, sympathizing, unself- I
ish child—the very soul of love'and affection
—.always so patient, mild and fokgiving that
no one could entertain for a moment an un-!
kind thought toward her. . She, was thought- I
NI for her years, yet ever a pleasant 'and
cheerful companion Though conscious that
her end was approaching she betrayed no fear
bat grieved most that her mother could not
be comforted. She complacently willed her
earthly treasure to her sisters and playmates
and trusting in Him who sairt, "Suffer little
children to come unto me," bravely met the foe.
Sweet JENNIE! we shall miss thee here,
Full many a vacant place,
And many a friend who held the dear i . .
Will miss thy cheerful face.
Thy young companions, Sabbath class,
Thy sisters sorrowing o'er thee,
Thy mother's grieving heart, alas I /
Will miss and-deep deplore thee. \:')
But JENNIE we will.not forget
At morn or quiet even,
