    POLITICAL.
The Naked Issue.
We enter now on •
the naked issue,
*lietliei • sliVeiyshall; be alibied: 'to
spread over all the territory ofibiscOnn
try, or whethef free. 'Mier, encouraged
and protected by wise reeulations-of law,
shall take possession of the soil designed
'obe foi its uses by the Creator. This
is the naked issue•of the'November strug
gle. It involve's the progreis of the free
white man in his march of development,
and Must decide the right of free white
or slave black labor, to bold undisputed
•liTsse§ion of the territory of_thisso ntry.
- either of- the .factions supportinz
Breekinridge or Douglas should succeed,
.the result would be the same in regard to
slavery. 'lt would be the same iu e6tab
lishing its claims to possession of the soil
..the tame in its right of transit, and lo
cationic' free States=and the - amine in
its arrogant demands on,thelegislatinn of
the country. Both factions of the Dem:-
ocratic party are in favor of the spread
of slave labor. whenever it gains sufficient
power. Both are opposed to the protec
tion•of.tiee ichite7allor, on the fallacious
plea that protection originates vionopoly,
and - MOnopoly ekgdntiefs and Thiposes
burdens on the great majority of thepeo
pie. This is the present position of the
divided „Democratic party, and on this
naked issue, 'explicitly\ definingand as
serting peculiar rights privileges : and
extensions, these two belligerent factions
now enter oh - the Presidential contest.—
In their position they also receive the
sympathy of those who rally .to the sup
port cf John Bell—the sympathy of north
ern dough Paces, and the support of all
who are opposed to the consolidation and
extension of free labor to all the territory
of the country.
Opposed to these factions, opposed to
the object of extending slavery, and op
posed to the slave trafic and free trade,
the Republican organization is arrayed in
the purest principles of religion and pat
riotism. Republicanism is opposed to
the introduction of slaveiy wherever it
would conflict with the interest and de.
telopment of free labor. It opposes no
local institution already established with
in defined precincts, but it contends
against the transportation of such an in
stitution beyond such precincts, to prem
ises wh-re it has never existed; and to lo
calities where its recognition would be
injurious to free labor. Because it wages
such an opposition, the Republican party
ie denonneed as sectional by those who
forbid the freedom of speech and suppi ess
the free circulation of a free press. Be
(cadse the Republican party is in favor of,
protecting free cabor, it is charged with
being. in favor of dissolving the Union.—
We ask the people to decide en this na
ketrissue. We ask them to decide be
twee a free and slave labor—between the
protection of the industry of the white
man and the ignorance of the negro.—
They can only do so by. Noting for —Abra
ham Lincoln.
Revolution. in Baltimore.
Co;:repondenee of the K. Y Tribune.
BALTIMORE, Oct, 12, 1860
The political affairs of Baltimore are as
suming such an exceedingly interesting
and refreshing aspect at present, that we
cannot refrain from writing a few lines to
inform you that the Monumental City is
not asleep over the glorious cause of Re
publicanism, and to redeem a promise 1
made you some time since. The thunder
from the Keystone State has been heard
among us, and has given courage to thou
sands here who had heretofore been too
weak in the faith to avow themselves in
favor of "Flee Labor and Free Men,"
and the election of " Honest Old Abe"
to the Presidency.
• The events of the last few days have
inspired all who bad any sympathy
with our cause with new hopes, and
the day has now passed here u-hen it
was unpopular to avow onesself a sympa
thizer in the cause of Freedom. 1 have
just returned froth a large and enthusias,
tic RepUblican meeting, called for the
formation of " Wide-Awake" Clubs, and
the speeches there made had all the gen
uine ring. Since our election of Mayor
thousands of those who bad been the sup
porters of the Bell and Everett ticket
have fallen into the ranks for " Honest
Old Abe,"-so that his bitterest opponents
now say Mel/ would not be surprised if he
carried the city in November. The Fu
sion, Confusion, and Dry Goods, tickets
of the North have .disgusted the honest
voters of all parties, who will come out in
their might on the 6th of November, and
roll up sich majorities for Lincoln and
Liberty as will make their dodging ewe
pents ashamed of their truck and barter.
' Yours, ever for Freedom, Justice,
and Humanity, H. M. S.
TIIE Pony Express, pith California

bad resumed its session, the runaway
Democrats having returned to the Senate.
October 1, was fixed as the time for elect

appeared to be no certainty that the elec

JUDSON'S
MOUNTAIN HERB PILLS
AsovE. we present you with a p6feet like
ness of Tezuco, a chief of a tribe of the strange
Aztec Nation, that once ruled Mexico. You
will find a full amount of hint and his people
in our Pamphlets and Almanacs—to be bad
gratis, from the Agents for these Pills.
The inventor and manufacturer of "Jud•
son's Mountain Herb Pills'," has spent the
greater part of his life in traveling, baring
visited nearly every country in the world.—
Ile spent over six years among the Indians of
the Itocky Moun'ains and of Mexico, end it
was thus that the " Mot irAnt IlEnn .rats"
were discovered. A very interesting account
of his adventures There, youwill find in our
Almanac and Pamphlet.
IL is an established fact, that all' diseases
arise from •.
The blood is the life! and-when any foreign
or unhealthy matter gets mixed with it, it is
nt once distributed to every organ of the
body. Every nerve feels the poison, and ell
the. vital organs quickly complain. The stem•
itch will not digest the food perfectly. The
liver ceases to scdrete a sufficiently of bile:
The action of.the heart is weakened, and sa
the circulation is feeble. The lungs borate
clogged with the poisonous matter; hence, s
cough-- -and all from a slight impurity at the
fountain-head of life—the Blood ! As it yes
had thrown some earth,:for instance, in I
pure spring,,front, which ran a tiny rivulet iu
a few minutes the whole course of the stream
becomes disturbed and diseolored. Astluick; .
ly does impure blood fly to every part; and
leave its sting behind. All the passages he
come obstructed, and unless the obStructirt
is removed, the lamp of life soon dies out.
These pills not only purify the blood, bet
regenerate all the secretions of the body; they
are therefore, unrivalled as a
