Of course nothing is known of the orders under which Gen. Scott repairs to Mexico, although they are generally beloved to be of the amplest Tampico, it is thought, will be the line of operations, from which Gen. The Washington correspondent of the New York Journal of Commerce throws out I I the following ideas : General SCOTT said, a while ago, that he never would he called upon for active service in the Mexican War until the Gov- urination. We have warned the friends of Gen Irvin against some of the means that are bein! nsed to bring about the nomination of their favor ite-berause we were, and are, assured that they arc likely to beget a feeling adverse to the success of the Whig cause.
