in Gettysburg, a large quantity of those
valuable' Machmes, and. now offer them to
the Farmers as the most useful, labor-say;

ever offered to the public. The price of
those Machines being much less than any
other Machina of the kind, every Farmer
has it in his power to obtain one. Two
hands can load and unload this Machine
with ease, and one horse can haul the whole
Machine in a small wagon over any ordina

enough within himself to work the machine.

mannerAtossible. It posse4ses a decided
advantage over any other ‘lachine, being
less liable to get out of order, and easily to

HORSE.-POWER
AND
THRASHING
MACHINES.
THE Subscriber takes pleasure in an
mu:lcing th ho is now prepared to furnish
the Farmers of Adams and Franklin Coon•
ties with the best HORSE POWER AND
THRASHING MACHINES ever put in
operation in either of the above counties.—
The advantages of the Horse• Power are
obvious from the fact, that a much greater
velocity of the cy'ander of the Machine is
acquired by a slower walk of the horses
than in any other Machine now in use, and
having greater leverage and less friction
requires lighter draught. The superior'
ty of the Thrashing, Machine consists in
that of Thrashing more grain iu any given
time with four men to attend it, than the
Machines now in use do with seven men to
attend them.
The above powers and Machine. are
permanently conairucted, and will wear
much longer than any heretofore offered to
the public. The Shops in which they are
manufactured are Mount Maria Furnance,
near Millerstown, Adams county, and at
Indian Springs, near Waynesboro', Frank
lin county, Pa.
K~'All orders will be thankfully receiv
ed and promptly attended to at either of the
above shops. Farmers and others would
dry well to examine the above, previous to
purchasing elsewhere.

mouG ELASTEMA,SPITTING OF BLOOD
\ of Sixty Years Standing, CURED by Dr
Jayne's Expectorant:
PHILADELPHIA, August 16th, 1838.
Mr. Axxixsox—Dear Sir: A raw weeks ago I
noticed in your paper, an account of the surpri
sing effects of Jayne's Carminative, in festering
a great number of passengers on board a Missis
sippi steamboat, to perfect health who wore affee.
led with Bowel Complaint. I was glad to see
you notice it so kindly; you may reel assured It
deserves the praise bestowed upon it. The ben.
oft I have received from this medicine, more es
pecially his Expectorant, induces me to state my
case to pottier the benefit of those who are afilic.
ted in the same way. It has been my misfortune,
sir, to labor under a cough and asthiuratieal op.
pression, for more than half a century. When a
soldier in the American camp, in 1778, I. with
many others, (owing to great exposure,) had a
violent attack of disease of the Lungs,by which I
was disabled from
. duty for a long time. Since
that period until recently. I have never been free
from a violent Cough and difficulty of breathing.
Year after year I have expectorated over a gill a
day; often much more, and sometimes mixed
with blood. For months together, night after
night, I have had to sit or be bolstered up to ob.
lain my breath. The weakness and debility can.
sod by such constant expectoration, frequently
brought me to a state borderin eon death: It has
been a matter of astonishment to my family and
friends that lam here to write this to you. I
have had skilful physicians to attend me, end
every thing done that was thought likely to give
mo relief, without any beneficial effect. Lest
winter I bad another severe attack of Intlarua.
tion of the Lungs, which I fully expected would
be the last. I then considered my case as past
the aid of medicine, when I was persuaded to call
on Doctor Jayne. With the assistance of Divine
Providence, through him,l was once more raised
from my, bed, but the coughing and wheezing
wearied me day and mght. He advised mo to use
his Expectorant. 1 did so, with a strong hope
that, as it had cured many of my acquaintances
of various diseases ofthe Lurgs.it might at least
Mitigate my sufferings. Need I say how gratif;
ed I felt? It has EFFECTUALLY CORED me. As
soon as I commenced taking it. I found it reach
ed my care, and I began to breath`e with more
freedom. My expectoration became more °wry..
and my cough entirely left me. I now feel as
well as eve: I did in my life, and am better then
I have boon for the last SIXTY YEARS. Last SUM.
iner I spit a great deal of blood; now, thank God,
lam perfectly cured. Now, Sir, after suffering
so long, end finding at last such signal relief firm
Jayne's Expectorant. I feel anxious to inform
my follow citizens whore relief may be had. If
you think this worthy a place in your paper you
will oblige me by noiicing it.
