THE melancholy e ff ects of which our obituaries painfully exhibit, have for some years been increasing to an alarming extent. The dreadful ravages of these complaints have in a vast .number of cases boon arrested, by the use of Dr. Relfo's Asthmatic or Consumptive Pills, which have proved one of the most useful medicines ever yet discovered, for complaints of the Lungs generally. This medicine has re. stored a large number of persons, from the very borders of the grave, to hoalth and society, who had been given over by their friends, and in many instances even by their Physicians, as past relief ! Among a large number of cases of cure by the use of this invaluable medicine, the following are gresented to the public. Copy of a Letter. Dear Sir :—Having been affected for several years past with weak lungs and a troublesome cough, which had become very alarming, I was induced to try the efficacy of your Relfe's Asthmatic Pills, from which I have derived so much benefit that I have recommended them to a number of my friends as a cure for coughs, colds, &c. and have heard of no instance in which the pa tient has not Won benefittad. Relieving as 1 do that this medicine has been the means of prolonging my life, and that of a near friend, who is subject .to a pulmonary complaint, you may rest assured that 1 shall avail myself of every opportuni. ty to make othbra acquainted with its vir tues. Yours, truly, A. A. South Boston, Feb. 22d, 1836. .3 Remarkable Case. A gentleman states an extraordinary case, that of his wife, who was reduced so low by a pulmonary complairit, that symp toms of approaching dissolution began to exhibit themselves, so that her Physician ihtlinateJ that nothing further could be done for her—that her case was past hu man skill, and the Doctor observed shortly after, while at a neighbors, that Mrs. W. Was about to leave as. The same evening n relation recommended a trial of these (Relic's Asthmatic) Pills, they were accord ingly administered, producing such relief, and effecting so favorable a change during the night, that in the morning strong hopes were Abided ofat least a partial restoration of her health, which was effected, and made comparatively comfortable by a continued sue of these Pills. Timely Relief. A person recently from neglecting a slight cold, became so seriously affected with a severe cough, which notwithstanding every attempt to remove, became so bad as to oblige him to suspe - nd attending to business, and finally to exhibit such alarm• ing symptoms as to excite serious fears for the result—in these circumstances he was advised to make use of these Pills, which he did, and with such complete success, as to be able to resume his business in a few days, entirely cured ! Much more testimony might he produced to prove this one of the best medicines ever discovered for all stages of Consumption, Coaghs, Colds, Asthma, Hoarseness, Wheesing, Difficulty of breathing, Tight. nese of the Chest,Pain in the Side, Spitting of Blood, &c. &c. (VIOUGH,ASTHMA,SPITTING OF BLOOD, \WI of Sixty Years Standing, CURED by Dr. Jayno's Expectorant! PHILADELPHIA, August 16th, 1838. Mr. ATKINSON—Dear Sir: A few wooks ago I noticed in your paper, an account of the surpri sing effects of Jayno's Carminative, in restoring a groat number of passengers on board a Missis sippi steamboat, to perfect health who were affec tod with Bowel Complaint. I was glad to 803 you notice it so kindly; you may Cost assured it deserves the prelim bestowed upon it. Tho ben efit I have received from this medicine, more es pecially his Expectorant, induces me to state my case to you,for the benefit of those who are laic tod in the same way. It has been my misfortune, sir, to labor under a cough and asthmatics! op. prossion, for moro than lalf a century. When a soldier in tho American camp, in 1778,1, with many others, (owing to great exposure,) had a violent attack of' disease of the Lungs,by which I was disabled from duty for a long time. Since that period until recently, I have never boon froo from a violent Cough and difficulty of broathing. Year after year I have expectorated over a gill a day; often much more, and sometimes mixed with blood. For months together, night after night, I have had to sit or ho bolstered up to ob. tain my breath,The weakness and debility cau sed by such constant expectoration, frequently brought mo to a state borderin , r on death. It has boon a mattor of astonishment to my family arid friends that lam hero to write this to you. I have had skilful physicians to attend me, and every thing done that was thought likely to givo mo relief, without any bonoficial effect. Last winter I had anothor severe attack of Inflame lion of the Lungs, which I fully expected would bo the last. I then considered my case as past the aid of medicine, when I was persuaded to cull on Doctor Jayno. With the assistance of Divine Providence, through him,l was once more raisod from my bed, but the coughing and wheezing wearied me day and night. Ho advised mo to use his Expectorant. 1 did so, with a strong hope that, as it had cured many of my acquaintances of various diseases of the Lungs, it might et loast mitigate my sufferings. Need I say how gratifi. ed I fell? It has EFFECTUALLY CURED me. As soon as I commenced taking it, I found it touch ed my case, and I began to breathe with more freedom. My expectoration became more cia.y, and my cough entirely left me. I now fool as well as eve: I did in my life, and am bettor than I have boon for the last SIXTY YEARS. Last sum mer I spit a groat deal of blood; now, thank God, lam perfectly cured Now, Sir, after suffering so long, end finding at last such signal relief from Jayne's Expectorant, I fool anxious to inform my follow citizens where relief may be had.
