Gouley's Vegetable Medicines
UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS!
No medicine has, perhaps, ever met with sued
decided and general suttees as
Gouley's Vegetable Bitters.
Tills medicine has been but a few years
before the public, and the demand for
it has already become so great, that the sub.

ous orders which he is constantly receiving.
Innumerable Certificates in his possession
bear testimony to its medicinal virtues and
attest the fact of its having preserved the
lives of hundreds both in this city and else
where. •
His VEGETABLE COUGH DROPS,
a new article, are also getting into general
use, having been productive of the most be
neficial efrects in hundreds of families of the
first respectability in this city and vicinity
and ultheigh they have In one instance, but
without any foundation or truth, been pro
nounced poisonous, lIUNDREDS of certificates
can be produced of their having performed
positive and effectual cures in the most obsti
nate cases, both on young and old, and he
now challenges any one to produce satisfac
tory evidence that there is one particle of
any ingredient in their composition that can
injure-a person in the lowest stage of any
disease.
Having administered his medicines in al
most all diseases to which the human fami
ly are subjected, he never, in a Pingle in-
stance, found them to produce any injurious
effects, but, on the contrary, they have been
attended with the most complete success.

Dear Sir,—Having had a severe cough en

.3 Remarkable Case.
A gentleman states an extraordinary
case, that of his wife, who was reduced so
low by a pulmonary complaint, that symp
toms of approaching dissolution began to
exhibit themselves, so that her Physician
intimated that nothing further could be
done for her—that her case was past ho.
man skill, and the Doctor observed shortly
after, while at a neighbors, that Mrs. W•
was about to leave us. The same evening
a relation recommended a trial of these
(Relic's Asthmatic) Pills, they were accord
ingly administered, producing such relief,
and effecting so favorable a change during
the night, that in the morning strong hopes
were abided ofat least a partial restoratisn
of her health, which was effected, and made
comparitively comfortable by a continued
sue of these Pills.
Timely Relief.
A person recently from neglecting
slight cold, became so seriously affected
with a severe cough, which notwithstanding
every attempt to remove, became so bad
as to oblige him to suspend attending to .
business, and finally to exhibit such alarm
ing symptoms ns to excite serious fears for
the result--in these circumstances he was
advised to make use of these Pills, which
he did, and with such complete success, as
to be able to resume his business in a few
daysi entirely cured I
Much more testimony might be produced
to prove this one of the best medicines ever

Mr. ATKINSON—Dour Sir: A low weeks ago I
noticed in your paper, an account of the surpri
sing effects of Jayne's Curmiliatiie, in rerioring
a great number of passengers on board a Alrssis
sipei steamboat, to perfect health who were affec
ted with Bowel Complaint. I was glad to so::
You notice it so kindly; you may lent assured it
- deserves the praise bestotied upon it. The ben
efit I have received from this medicine, wore es
pecially his Expectorant, induces me to state my
case to you.tin the benefit of those a ho are afflic
ted in the same way. It has been my misiiirtune,
sir, to, labor under a cough and antlimatical op
pression, tin moro than Julia century. When a
soldier in the American camp, in 1778.1, with
many others, (owing to great exposure,) lied
violent attack of disease of the Lungs.by Inch I
wits disabled trout duty for a long time. Since
that period until recently, I have never been tree
from u violent Cough and difficulty of breathing.
Year after year I have expectorated over a gill a
day; often ii.uch more, end sometimes mixed
with blood. For mouths together, night after
night, I have hod to sit or be bolstered up to ob
tain my breath. The weakness and debility cau•
sed by such constant expectoration, Irequei.tly
brought nie to a state borderin • ott death. It lies
been a matter of astonishment to my family and
friends that I urn here to write title to you. I
have had skilful physicians to cannot me, and
every thing done that was thought likely to give
mo relief, without any beneficial efflct. Last
winter I had another severe attach 01
11011 of the Lungs, which I hilly expected would
ho the last. I then considered my rasa es IND.t
the aid of medicine, when I wus persuaded to cull
on Doctor Jayne. W lilt the assistance of Diviiii.
Providence, through him,' was once more rained
from my bed, but the coughing lied wheezing
wearied trio day and night. Ile advised me to use
his Expectorant. 1 did so, with a strong hope
that, as it had cured many of my acquaintances
of various discuses of the Lu: gs, it might at least
mitigate my sufferings. Need 1 say how gratifi
ed I felt? It has EFFECTUALLY CURED me. As
soon us I commenced taking it. I found it reach
ed my case, and I begun to breathe with more
freedom. My expectoration became more easy,
and my cough entirely left inn. P now fool as
well as eve: I did in any life, and ant better than
I have been fur the last SIXTY YEARS. Last sum
mer I spit a great deal of blood; new, thank God,
lam perfectly cured Now, Sir, atter sugering .
so long, and finding at last such signal relief num
Jayno's Expectorant, I feel anxious to inform
my follow citizens whore relief may be lied. If
you think this worthy n place in your paper you
will oblige me by noticing it.
