IT cannot be denied that whilst many med
klf/es which are recommended to the
public, have not even the negat,ve merit of
harmlessness, there are others which it
would be great injustice indeed and suicidal
prejudice to involve, untried, in a common
condemnation. And when a medicine comes
endorsed with all the great profession, and
warranted by the seal and signature of long
and uniform success, its proprietor makes
no unreasonable demand upon public confi
dence,when tie claims for it a superior con
sideration.
THE CAMOMILE PREPARATION
of Dr. Evans, of New York, is undeniably
entitled to this enviable distinction; for whilst
no medical authority i i existence Condemns
it, every medical, work which alludes to it,
and every medical practitioner that is ac
quainted with it, freely acknowledges its
pre-eminent virtues; and that the latter

interests, must be attributed either to their

and impaired constitutions; in nervous dis
eases of all kinds; in weakness of the diges
tive organs; in incipient consumptions whetli7
or of the lungs or of the liver; in the dread
ful debility occasioned by n the use of purga

ly) in the sickness incident to mothers and
females of relaxed nerves; in every case of
delirium tremens, or that disease which is

ed horrors of the mind and body which ac
crue from occasional inebriety, in the loss
of appetite; languor, melancholy, pains in
the head, limbs. or side; in corrupt, sallow,
and uncoinely complexions,which arise from
tho bad state of the fluids; in all these cases,
and in some others mentioned in the bills
and directions given with his medicines, he
does say,that theVarnomile Pill interchang
ed occasionally with his aperient family
pills, (the best known) which are - sold with
thorn, will affect immrdiate relief; and if us
ed but for a fair period of trial, a perfect
cure. This much is placed beyond doubt,
by daily testimonies which would be given
on oath; and for this much Dr. W. Evans
can conscientiously request confidence. He

five months past I have been laboring under
a severe Chronic Inflainitory Rheumatism,
attended with debility, li,ss of appetite, low
ness of spirits, &c. [laving frequently

About four years ago, Solomon flays, the per.
son to whom the celebrated Dr. Gridley had, on
his death bed, imparted the secret of making a
Liniment to cure the Piles, authorized it to be
put up and sold under the name of Flays' Lini
ment, and enjoined that all who would use ono
bottle for the Piles, and return the empty bottle,
should have the prim' refunded.
Since that time, upwards of fifty thousaud bot-
tles have been sold, out of which, not ton have
been returned, and those only because the per.
eons did not use it properly Such wonderful
success, probably, never attended any other null
do. It is now determined by the proprietor, that
the public shall be made more fully acquainted
with its virtues, so that those suffering with that
dreadful complaint may avail themsolveaorits use.
There are many thousand certificates of the
most respectable and authentic character,many of
which may be examined where the article is sold.
It is used as an external application, and for
many oilier complaints enumerated in the wrap
per, is considered remarkably effective ; but for
the PILES it has no equal, and the agents aro now
bound to refund in all cases whore it does not cure.
It is being used in Hospitals in our principal
cities with great effect.
No FICTION.--This extraordinary chemical
composition, the result of science and the inven
tion of a celebrated medical man, the introduction
of which to the public was invested with the so
lemnity, of a death-bed bequest, has since gained
a reputation unparalleled, fully sustaining the'
correctness of the lamented Gridley's last
confession, that "ho dared not die without giving
to posterity the benefit of his knowledge on the
nsbject," end he therefore bequeathed to his friend

lion at once.
All StocUings.—Roducing thorn in a few hours.
Rheumatism—A cute or Chronic,giving quick ease
Sore Throat. —By cancers, ulcers, or colds.
Croup and Whooping Cough.—Externally end
over the chest.
All Bruises, Sprains, end Burns, curing in a
law hours.
Sores and Ulcers.—Whotlier fresh or long
standing, and Fever sores.
Its operation upon adults and children in redo.

and tightness of the chest by relaxation of the
pinta, has bean surprising beyond concepti•nn.--
The common remark of those who have used it
