11. NATIONAL POLITICA.--It haw been the aim
of the Editor to present a full and fair exhibit'of
the aspects, movements and struggles, of parties
in our country, including the meeting of Con
ventions, nomination of candidates for State and
National Offices, and all other sigiateant mani
festations of political feeling, with the general
results of elections, as fast as ascertained, and
the official canvass in each instun,e, as soon
as it shall have reached us. This course is be
lieved to be in many respects original with this
journal; and it is considered that we hive just
cause 0f felicitation in the fact that, purstiA as
it has been through two years of unremilted po
litical warfare, the fairness and general accura•-
ci of our statements and returi.s have very
rarely, if ever, been cvat;oned. The Editor
reserves to himseS the right of remit king, as
circumstances may seem to require and justice
to dictate, on the lees exciting political topics
of the day. as on all others, with calmness, de:
ference and moderation; butt he will still thrive

paper. The gitarto is commenced in defer
