In April, 1856, as near as I can rememember a enroll pimple made its appearance on my up per lip, which soon became enlarged nod sore. I used poultiles et sorrel, and a wash of blue vitro!, without effect. Finding the sore extend ing I coiled on Dr. Ely, of Schellsberg, who pronounced it CANCER, and prescribed a wash of . eitgar or lead and bread poultices. Finding these remedies of no avail. I called upon Dr. Simffer, of Davideville, Somerset county, who also pronounced the disease Cancer and gave me internal and external remedies—the latter consisting principally of caustic; but nil to no parpnee, as the disease continue,: spreading to ward the nose. I next need u preparation of ar senic. in the form of salve. This fora time checked the disease, 1 tit the inflammation soon increased. I next called upon Dr. Stotler of St. Clairsville, Bedford county, who also pronoun ce,: the disease to he Concur, and applied a Salve ashd to be a never-fitiling remedy, but it had no eflbet whatever in checking the spread of the sore.
