The suit is a sandy or clay loam, with n clay
bottom and retentive of manures. It is Irce o
sts'ines and is easily worked. It almonds largely
in the phosphates, and such is its fertility that
from the crops pre duced upon this land and the
large area adjoining under cultivation, it will be
foand not to be excelled anywhere • in the produc
tion of crops most adapted to its market.
The render may be well aware that the earliest
and the best frgios and vegetable. come from New
Jersey, which are annually exported to the
amount of millions of dollars. The land, be
sides being in every way accessible for fertilizers
has an abundant simply of the fios. onility of
muck manure.
Lumber and building materials ran be hail on
the spot at a cheap price, from the mills. 0:11er
mill are now being opened, and brick-yards icing
started on the ground. A person can put up a
frame tenement for present convenience foi one
hundred dollars. On account of the extensive
emigration, this is the best course to pursue in O
der to get a place to live in at first. Curpentrsf
and builders are on hand to put up houses on the
best terms.
In settling here the emigrant has many advan
tages. Ile is within a few hours' r'ile of the great
cities in the Middle States and New England, he
is near Ills old friendsantl associations ; be is in e
settled country, where every improvement and
comfort of civilization is at hand ; Ise ii in a heal
thy place, and is not subject to the certainty of
losing the grelyer part of his family andlhis Imo

' lends. Besides, he has a mild climate and an

There are three trains daily to Philadelphia,
.d to all those who imi rove the railroad com
pany gives a free ticket.
The resider will at once be struck with the ad
vantages here presented, and ask himself why the
property has not been taken up before. The rea
son is, it was never thrown in the market; and
unless these statements were correct no one would
'be invited to examine the land before purchasing.
This all are expected to do. They will see the
land under cultivations ; they will meet persons.
'no doubt, from their own neighborhood ; they will
witness the improvements, and can judge of the
character of the population. Persons should
come prepared to purchase, as many are locating
and locations are not held on refusal.
The Hammonton Farmer, a monthly Literary
and Agricultural paper containing full informa
tion of Hammonton, will be sent to each inqui
rer, and can be obtained at 25 cents per annum.

Sworn statement of David McCreary, of Na
pier Township, Bedford county.
In April, 1856, as near as I can rememember
a enroll pimple made its appearance on my up
per lip, which soon became enlarged nod sore.
I used poultiles et sorrel, and a wash of blue
vitro!, without effect. Finding the sore extend
ing I coiled on Dr. Ely, of Schellsberg, who
pronounced it CANCER, and prescribed a wash
of
. eitgar or lead and bread poultices. Finding
these remedies of no avail. I called upon Dr.
Simffer, of Davideville, Somerset county, who
also pronounced the disease Cancer and gave
me internal and external remedies—the latter
consisting principally of caustic; but nil to no
parpnee, as the disease continue,: spreading to
ward the nose. I next need u preparation of ar
senic. in the form of salve. This fora time
checked the disease, 1 tit the inflammation soon
increased. I next called upon Dr. Stotler of St.
Clairsville, Bedford county, who also pronoun
ce,: the disease to he Concur, and applied a Salve
ashd to be a never-fitiling remedy, but it had no
eflbet whatever in checking the spread of the
sore. In December, of the same year, the dis
ease hail eaten away a greater part at my upper
lip. and had attacked the nose, when I went to
Cincinnati where I consulted Dr. R. S. Nee tin
