Re moves at once all scurf, dandruff and unpleasant itching, scrofula, eruptions and feverish heat from the scalp. It also prevents the hair from becoming unhealthy and falling oft', and hence acts as a perfect Hate INviciouArou AND To- A gentleman of Boston writes to his friend in New Bedford thus: To your inquiries I would reply, that when I first commenced to use Professor Wood's Hair Restorative; my hair was almost white, and had been so for the last ten tears and it was very thin ou the top of my head, and very loose, and pulled out very freely; hut I found that before I hail used all the second bottle, (which was eight weeks) my hair was entirely changed to its original color, light brown, and is now free from dandruff and quite moist. I have had my hair cut five or six times since this change, and have never sees anything like white hair start ing from the roots; and it is now as thick as it ever was, and does not come out all. It has proved in my case all that I could wish to ask. July I, 1855. Yours, etc. [FroinAhe Boston Herald.] 80116i111N0 Wotan ICNowitto.—By using Professor Wood's Hair Restorative, gray hair can be permanently restored to its original color. The subjoined certificate from Johnson & Stone Gardiner, Maine. is but one of the many in stances that are daily coming to our knowledge, of its wonderful ellbets. GAR 'Ma, Maine, June 22, 1855. DEAR :—I have used two bottles of Prof. Wood's Hair Restorative, and can truly say it is the greatest discovery of the age for restoring and changing tho hair. BROOKFIELD, Massachusetts, Jan. 12, 1855. nun SIR :—Having motto a trial of your Hair Restorative, it gives me pleasure to say that its effect has been excellent in re roaring in flammation, dandruff, and a constant itching hendeney, w itw filch I have been troubled childhood ; nod has also restored my hair, which was becoming grey, to its original color• I hare nand no other article with anything like the pleasure and profit. Yours truly. J. K. BRAGG. Pastor of the Orthodox Church, Brookfield, Professor Wood. [From the Missouri Democrat.] WOOD'S HAIR DYE.—Thislilmirable ar tide is rapidly improving the hair. No article of a similar kind, now before tho public, enjoys a better reputation an a restorative and invigo rating hair tonic. Its peculiar chemical quali ties have a beneficial effect upon the growth end character of the hair, giving a silky and glossy texture to that which was formerly of a coarse and dry nature. It has, also, we understand, a tendency to preserve the youthful color and ap pearance of the hair, and destroying or counter acting the effects of old age. With such recom mendations in its favor. we hardly perceive how any lady or gentleman should be without so val uable an adjunct to their toilet. 0..1. WOOD & CO., Proprietors, 312 Broadway N. I believe this sample to bo pule Brandy with- out adulteration—the flavor of it is delicate and peculiar. JAMES R. CHILTON, M. D., 16058 61 The 01110 CATAWBA. BRANDY not only equals, but even excels the best imported Brandies in purity and flavor. It is in fact the Best Brandy known. This statement is fully corroborated by the certificates of many of our most distinguished analytical Chemists, 801110 of which accompany this circular. The want of PURE BRANDY has long been felt in this country, and the introduction of an article of such quality as to supersede the sale and use of those vile compounds hith erto sold under the name of Brandy, can only be regarded as a great public good. The Ca. tawlto Brandy possesses all the good qualities claimed liar the best imported Liquor, and is of perfect purity and superior flavor. It is there. fore fully entitled to the patronage of the pub. lic. We feel confident that its receptiou in this State will be us that which it has met with in the Great West, and that the time is not far distant, when the superiority of our own Li (puns will put an end to their importation from abroad. In Medicinal purposes this Brandy has no rival, and has long been needed. Writ, is a Sovereign and Sure Remedy for Dyspepsia, Flatulency. March Appointments Dr. Hardman, Physician fur disease of the Lungs,(limmerly Physician to Cincinnati Ma rine lospital,) will be in attendance at his rooms as follows Huntingdon, Jackson's Ilotel, Tuesday, Mar. 16, Lewistown, National lintel, 17. Hollidaysburg, L•'xentnge Hotel, 15. 1)1 . . Hardman treats Consumption, Bronchi tis, Asthma, Larryngittis and all diseases of the throat mid lungs, by medical Inhalation, lately used in the Broaden Hospital, London. The great point in the treatment of all Kaman mala dies is to get at the disease in the direct man lier, All medicines are estimated by their ac tion upon the rgan requiring relief. This is the important fu•r upon which Inhalation is ba sed. If the stomach is diseased we take medicine directly into the stomach. If the lungs are diseased, breathe or inhale medicated va pors directly into the lungs. Medicines are the antidotes to disease and should he applied to the very seat of disease. Inhalation is the ap plication of this pnnciple to the treatment of the lungs, for it gives us direct access to those intricate air cells and tubes which lie out of reach of every other means of administering medicines. The reason that Consumption, and other diseases of the lungs, have heretofore re sisted all treatment has been because they had never been approached to a direct manner by medicine. They were intended to act upon the lungs and yet were applied to the stomach.— Their action was intended to he local, and yet, they were so administered that they should not ant constistationally, expending immediate and principal action upon the unotlending stomach, whilst the foul ulcers within the lungs were un molested. Inhalation brings the medicine in direct contact with the disease, without the disadvantage of any violent action. Its appli cation is simple, that it can he employed by the youngest infant or feeblest invalid. It dons not derange the stomach, or interfere in the least de gree with the strength, comfort, or business of the patient. 0111 E. U 1)IAN ROOT PILLS, has spent the grea ter part'of his lite in travelling, having visited Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as North America--has spent three years among the In dians of our Western country—it waS in this way that the Indian Root Pills were first dis• covered. Dr. Morse was the first man to es tablish the fact that all diseases arise from Im• purity of the Blood—that our strength, health and life depended upon this vital fluid. When the various passages become clogged, and do not act in perfect harmony with the dif• ferer.t functions of the body, the blood loses its action. becomes thick, corrupted and di• sensed; thus causing all pains sickness and distress of every name; our strength is exhaus ted, our health, we are deprived of, and if na• tore is not assisted in throwing off the stag nant humors, the blood will become choked and cense to act, and thus our light of life will forever he blown out. How important then that we should keep the various passages of the body free and open. And how pleasant to too that we have it in our power to put a medi cine in your reach, namely. Morse's Indian Root Pills, manufactured from plants and roots which grow around the mountainous cliffs in Nature's garden, fur the health and recovery of diseased man. One of the roots from which these Pills are made is a Sudorific, which o pens the pores of the skin, and assists Nature tii throwing out the finer parts of the corrup tion within. The second is a plant which la MI Expectorant, that opens and unclogs the passage to the lungs, and thus, in a soothing manner, performs its duty by throwing off phlegm, and other humors from the lungs by copious spitting. The third is a Diuretic, which gives ease and double strength to the, kidneys; thus encouraged, they draw large a— mounts of impurity from the blood, which is then thrown ant bountifully by the urinary or water passage, and which could nt t have been discharged in any other way. The fourth is a Cathartic, sad accompanies the other prop erties of the Pills while engaged in purifying the blood; the coarser panicles of impurity, which cannot pass by the other outlets, are thus taken up and conveyed off in great quan• titles by the bowels. From the above, it is shown that Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills not only enter the stomach, but become united with the blood, for they find way to every part, and completely rent out and deans., the system from all impurity, and the life of the hody, which is the blood, be eiimes perfectly healthy; consequently all sick. ni•ss and pain is drives from the system, for they cannot remain when the body becomes so mire end clear. The reason why people are so distressed when sick, end why so many die, is because they do not get a medicine which will pass to the afflicted parts, and which will open the natural passages for the disease to be cast out hence, it large quantity of food and other mat ter is lodged, and the stomach and intestines are literally overflowing with the corrupted mass; thus undergoing disagreeable fermenta tion, constantly mixing with the blood, which throws the corrupted matter iltrough every vein and artery. un, life is taken from the body hy tl;sease. Dr. Morse's Pills have ad deit to . theinselves victory upon victory, by re i storing millions of the sick to blooming health anti happiness. Yes, thousands who have been reeked or tormented with sickness, pain and anguish, and whose feeble frames have een scorched by the burning elements of ra ging foyer, and who have been brought, as it were, within a step of the silent grave, now I stolid ready to testify that they would have been numbered with the dead, had it not been for this great and wonderful medicine, Morse's Indian Root Pills. After one or two doses hail been taken, they were astonished, and ab solutely surprised, in witnessing their charm ing effects. Not only do they give immedi ate ease and strength, and take away all sick ness, pain and anguish but they at once go to work at the foundedon of the disease, which is the blood. Therefore, it will be shown, espec ially by those who use these Pills, that they will so cleanse and purify, that disease—that deadly enemy—will take its flight, and the flush of youth and beauty will again return, and the prospect of a long and happy life will cher'sh and brighten your days.
