of any road or bridge view, election, or service of
any kind rendered said county, and which is of an

settlement by said Auditors , and all demands
uncalled for and unclaimed op to the time spe
cified, will be considered as forfeited and forever
shut out 1 and the certificate, order or paper on
which it is predicated, rejected and thrown Baltic

Electro-Magnet Lightning Rods.
AFTER many years' close investigation and
numerous experiments, the Patentee takes
pleasure In informing the public that he has urn--
red at the true principles of protecting families,
dwellings and property from the destructive in
fluence of Lightning. Iho calamities that
every City, Town, Village and Country falls vic
tim to annually, through the gross negligence of
its inhabitants, is beyond calculation, especially
when the remedy is so easy to obtain—this is
found in Arinitage's Patent Magnetic
Lightning Rode, and in this alone. This
Rod has been examined by the most scientific
gentlemen in the world—Professors M'Murtrie,
Johnson, Wanor and many others that have ex
amined them, recommend and speak of them in
the highest terms of approbation, and here pro
nounced them the only safe rods in use in this or
any other country, for the protection of Lives and
Property. One advantage is to divide and throw
back a part of the electric fluid harmless to the
clouds; in time of a stroke this enables the rod
to conduct that portion of fluid that belongs to
the earth without the slightest danger of leaving
the conductor. This rod has many other advan

ruin the Constitution, causing the most serious
symptoms of that dreadful disease to make their
appearance, such as affections of the head, nose,
throat, skin, etc., progressing with frightful ra
pidity till death puts a period to their dreadful

Reader, I peddled over a thousand bottles of
this in the vicinity of Boston. I knew the effect
of it in every case. So sure as water will extin
guish fire, so sure will this cure humor. I Hover
sold a bottle of it but that sold another; after a
trial it always speaks for itself. There aro two
things about this herb that appear to me surpri
sing ; first that it grows in our pastures, in some
places quite plentiful, and yet its value has never
been known until I discovered it in 1046—second
that it should cure all kinds of humor.
In order to give some idea of the sadden rise
and groat popularity of the discovery. I will
state that in April, 1853, I peddled it nod sold
about six bottles per day—in April, 1834, I sold
over ono thousand per day (wit.
Some of the wholesale Druggists who have
been in business twenty and thirty years, say
that nothing in the annals of patent medicines
was ever like it. There is a universal praise of
it from all quarters.
In my own practice I always kept it strictly for
humors—but since its introduction 118 a general
family medicMe, great and wonderful virtues
have been found in it that I never suspected.
Several cases of epileptic fits—a disease which
was always considered incurable, hove been cu
red by a few bottles. 0, what a mercy if it will
prove effectual in all cases of that dreadful mal
ady—there are but few who have more of it than
I have.
1 know of several cases of Dropsy, ell of whom
aged people cured by it. For the various disea
ses of the Liver, Si-k Ileadache, Dyspepsia,
Asthma, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side, Dis
eases of the Spine, and particularly in diseases
of the Kidneys, &c., the discovery has done more
good than any medicine ever known.
