FEVER AND AGUE CURE,
For the prevention and .Cure of Intermittent
anti Remittent Fevers, Fever out Ague, Chills
and Fever, Dumb Agne, General Debility Night
Sweats, and all other forms of disease which have
a common origin in Malaria or Miasma.
This is a natural antidote which will entirely
protect any resident or traveller even in the
moat sickly or swampy localities, from any Aga
or Bilk/us disease whatever, or any injury from
constantly inhaling Malaria or Miasma.
It will instantly check the Ague in persons
who have suffered for any length of time, from
ono day to twenty years, so that they need sever
to have another chill, by continuing in use ac
cording to directions. The patient at once begins
to recover appetite and strength, and continues
until a permanent and radical cure is effected.
One Or two bottles will answer for ordinary
cases ; sonic may require more. Directions prin
ted German, French and Spanish, accompany
each bottle. Price pile dollar. Liberal dis
counts made to the trade.

any substance in its composition that would
prove injurious to the constitution.

Mr. J. A. Rhodes—Dear Sir ; The box of
medicine you sent me wee duly received un'the
11th of April. I have sold about one half of it,
and so fitr the people who have used it, and six
of tht cases were of long standing ; my sister.
who ltd it for five or six years hack, and could
never got it stopped, except by Quinine, and
th a t o nl y as l ong as she would take, is now, I
think, entirely cured by your remedy.
C. R. McGINGLY."
CAUTION TO AGUE SUFFERERS.
Take no more Arsenic, Tonics, Mercury, Qui
nine, Febrifuges, Strychnine, or Anti-Periodics,
of any kind. The well-known inefficiency of
these noxious poisons proves them to be the off
spring of false medical principles, or of mercena
ry quacks. The only remedy in existence that
is both sure and harmless is

GREATEST MEDICAL DISCO
VERY OF THE AGE.
Dr. Kennedy, of Roxbury, has discovered in one
at our common pasture weeds at remedy
that cores
M 1211177 MEIED 1101d1CB D
the worst smalls down to a common pimple.
He has tried it in over 1100 cases, and never
failed except in two eases, (both thunder humor.)
Ho has now in his possession over two hundred
certificates of its viitne, all within twenty miles
of Boston.
Two bottles nre warmintea to owe n nursing
sore mouth.
One to three bottles will mire o worst kind
of Pimples on the like.
. .
oo► three bottles will clear the system of
Biles.
Two bottles arc wtuTanted to cure the worst
case of Erysipclos,
. -
Ohe to two bottles are warrantixi to cure all
humor in the Eyes.
Two bottles tiro warranted to care running of
the Cllll and blotches among the hair.
Four to six bottles are warranted to cure cor
rupt and running ulcers.
One bottlo will cure scaly eruption of the
skin.
Two to three bottles are warranted to cure the
worst ease of ringworm.
Two to three bottles are warranted to cure the
most desperate case of rheumatism.
Three to four bottles are warranted to cure the
salt rheum.
Five to eight bottles will cure the worst case
of scrofula.
A benefit is always experienced from the first
bottle, and n perfect cure is warranted when the
above quantity is taken.
Reader, I pedalled over a thousand bottles of
this in the vicinity of Boston. I knew the effect
of it in every case. So sure as water wilt extin
guish fire, so sure will this care hmnor. I never
sold a bottle of it but that sold another; after a
trial it always speaks for itself. There are two
things about this herb that appear to me surpri
sing ; first that it grows in our pastures, in some
places quite plentiful, anal yet its value has never
been known until I discovered it in 1846—second
that it should cure all kinds of humor.
In order to give some idea of the sudden riso
and groat popularity of the discovers , . I will
state that in April, 1853, I peddled it and sold
about six bottles per day—in April, 1854, I sold
over one thousand per day of it.
Some of the wholesale Druggists who have
been in business twenty and thirty years, say
that nothing in the annals of patent medicines
was ever like it. Tiers is a universal praise of
it troy all quarters.
In my own practice I always kept it strictly fur
humors—but since its introduction as a general
family medicine, great and wonderful virtues
hare been found it that I never suspected.
Several canes of epileptic fits—a disease which
was always considered incurable, have been cu
red by a few bottles. 0. what a mercy if it will
prove effectual in all eases of that dreadful mal
ady—there are bat few who have more of it than
I have.
I know °invent' cases aDropsy, all of whom
aged people cured by it. For the various dim
ses of the Liver, Si-k Headache, Dyspepsia,
Asthma, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side, Dis
eases of the Spine, and partienlarly in diseases
of the Kidneys, &c., the discovery has done more
good than any medicine over known.
- No change of diet ever necessary—eat the best
you can get and enough of it.
DHIRCTIONS FOR I:TlM—Adults one table
spoonful per tiay—Children over ten years des
sert spoonfull —Children from five to eight years
teaspoonfull. As no directions can be applica

dwellings and property from the destructive in
fluence of Lightning. The calamities that
every City, Town, Village and Country falls vic
tim to annually, through the gross negligence of
its inhabitants, is beyond calculation, especially
when the remedy is so easy to obtain—this is
found in Arinitage% Patent Magnetic
Lightning Itodg, and in this alone. This
Rod has been examined Icy the most scientific
gentlemen in the world—Professors M'Aturtrie,
Johnson, Waller and many ethers that have ex
amined them, recommend and speech of them in
the highest terms of approbation, and have pro
nounced them the only safe rode in use in this or
any other country, for the protection of Lives and
Property. One advantage in to divide and throw
bock a part of the electric fluid harmless to the
clouds; in time of a stroke this enables the rod
to conduct that portion of fluid that belongs to
the eorth without the slightest danger of leaving
the conductor. This rod has many other advan
tages over the old one. The only place of man
ufacturing is in
line St., 3 doors above Twat flh, Philadelphia,
where all persons are respectfully invited to call
and examine for themselves. For sale Whole
sale and Retail, by TItOS. ARMITAGE.

I have this day carefully inspected a conductor
or Lightning Rod, with vane and index, erected
by Mr. Thomas Armitage, on Bellevue House,
Gloucester, and have no hesitation in saying that
it is not only the best that I have ever seen, but
that it is the only one I have yet examined that
is constructed on strictly wientiflc principles. It
is with much pleasure that I recommend this
conductor to the attention of owners of buildings.
11. McMURTRIE.
I am well satisfied that the Magnetic Lightning
Rod, manufnetured by Mr. Thomas Armitage, of
Philadelphia, is the best that has ever been made.
I have spent several years in the study of the laws
. -
of electricity and magnetism, and have no hesita
tion in saying that theae Rods are constructed
upon the only principle of safety. Tho electric
shock is received and dispersed by the magnot at
the top of the rod, and it would be impossible,
according to the laws of attraction and repulsion,
for n building to be injured by a stroke of light
ning when protected by one of those rods. I
have been acquainted with Mr. Armitnge for sev
oral years, and before he commenced the manu
facture of these rods I examined the principle on
which they are constructed, and felt convinced
that their adoption would he attended with com
plete success. The increasing demand for these
rods, and the extensive sales in all parts of the
country, is ample commendation of their utility
and superiority.

The following extract is taken from an editori
al in the Germantown Telegraph, edited by Major
Fame
"The bogus rod placed upon our dwelling we
have had taken down; and Another creted by Mr.
ARMITAGE, to which we would cull the attention
of oar farmers and readers generally. It is put
op on true scientific principles, and is a rod that
has been approved by the highest authority, and
will bear the most thorough examination. Those
who have been deceived, as we have been, should
lose no time in having a proper protection against
lightning, substituted. The cost is a mere bag
atelle when compared with the entire safety of
oar horses anil. barns against this destructive ele-
moat. Mr. AustrrnoTi's advertisement will bo
found in the columns of this paper; and we feel
as though mowers performing an imperious duty
to the community, by thus inviting to it general
attention."
PIIILADELDIIIA, Dec. 4, 1852.
Mr. T. ARMITAGE, Vine Street, west of Twelfth
Street, Philadelphia.
Mr DEAR SIR S After a trial of many weeks, it
aflbrds me great pleasure to inform von that I
am highly delighted with the lightning rod you
placed upon my house at Bustleton. As far as
my chemical knowledge enables me to perform
an opinion, I am satisfied you have developed
the correct principles in the adaptation of rods to
protect property from destruction by lightning; as
soon as the advantages of your arrangeMents are
understood, I am convinced that tow persons will
be found no reckless as to fail to avail themselves
of the protection afforded by your rods. Wishing
you all success in your enterprise,
I am yours truly,
