Dr. Kennedy, of Roxbury, has discovered in one of our common pasture weeds a remedy that cures 2725 W ItilED OT' the worst scrothln down to a common pimple, He has tried it in over 1100 eases, and never failed except in two cases, (both thunder humor.) He has now in his possession over two hundred certificates of its viatue, all within twenty miles of Boston. Two bottles ore warranted to cure a nursing sore mouth. One to three bottles will cure tl c worst kind of Pimples on the fare. T oor three bottles will dear the system of Two bottles are warranted to core the worst case of Erysipelas. One to two bottles ice warranted to curo all humor in the Eyes. Two bottles are warranted to core running of the cars nod blotches among the hair. " ' Four to six bottles are warranted to cure cor rupt and running ulcers. One bottle will cure scaly eruption of the skin. Two to three bottles are warranted to curs the worst MC of t ingworm. Two to three bottles are warranted to curs the most desperate case of rheumatibm. Three to four bottles are warranted to cure the salt rheum. Five to eight bottles will cure the worst case of scrofula. A benefit is always experienced from the first bottle, and a perfect cure is warranted when the above quantity is taken. Reader, I peddled over a thousand bottles of this in the vicinity of Boston. I knew the effect of it in every case. So sure as water will extim guish lire, so sure will this cure humor. I never sold a bottle of it but that sold another; after a trial it always speaks fur itself. There aro two things about this herb that appear to me surpri sing ; first that it grows in our pastures, in some places quite plentiful, and yet its value has never been known until I discovered it in 1846—second that it should cure all kinds of humor. In order to give some idea of the sudden rise and great popularity of the discovery. I will state that in April, 1853, I peddled it and sold about six bottles per day—in April, 1854, I sold over ono thousand per day of it. Some of the wholesale Druggists who have been in business twenty and thirty years, say that nothing in the annals of patent medicines was ever like it. Tht re is a univ ersal praise of it front all quarters. In my own practice I always kept it strictly for humors—but since its introduction ns a general fatuity medicine groat and wonderful virtues have boon foun d it that I never suspected. Several eases of epileptic fits—a disease which was always considered incurable, have been cu red by a few bottles. O. what a mercy if it will prove efinctual in all cases of that dreadful mal ady—there are but few who have more of it than I have. I know of several cases of Dropsy, all of whom aged people cured by it. For the various disea ses of the Liver, NH: Headache, Dyspepsia, Asthma, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side, Dis eases of the Spine, end particnlarly in diseases of the Kidneys, Ike., the discovery hos done more good than any medicine ever known. No change of diet ever necessary—eat the beat you can get and enough of it. MISCELLANEOUS ARM AGE'S Electro-Magnet Lightning Rods. A FTER many years' close investigation and „ti numerous experiments, the Patentee takes pleasure in informing the public that he has arri ved at the true principles of protecting families, dwellings and property from the destructive in fluence of Lightning. The calamities that every City, Town, Village end Country falls vic tim to annually, through the gross negligence of its inhabitants, is beyond calculation, especially when the remedy is so easy to obtain—this is found in Armitage , s Patent Magnetic Lightning Rods, and in this Alone. This Rod has heels examined by the most scientific gentlemen in the world—Professors M'Murtrie, Johnson, Waller and many others that have ex amined them, recommend and speak of them in the highest terms of approbation, and have pro nounced them the only safe rods in use in this or any other country, for the protection of Lives and Property. One advantage is to divide and throne hack a part of the electric fluid harmless to the clouds; in time of a stroke this enables the rod to conduct that portion of fluid that belongs to the earth without the slightest danger of leaving the conductor. This rod has many other advan tages over the old one. The only place of man ufacturing Vine 81., - 3 doors above Twelfth, Philadelphia, where all persons are respectfully invited to call and examine for themselves. For sale Whole sale and Retail, by Tilos. ARMITAGE. Orders promptly attended to. Terms cash. Recommendations, PimADA.. Aug. 13, 1847. I have this day carefully inspected a conductor or Lightning Rod, with vane and index, erected by Mr. Thomas Armitage, on Bellevue House, Gloucester, and have no hesitation in saying that it is not only the best that I hare ever seen, but that it is the only one I have yet examined that is constructed on strictly scientific principles. It is with much pleasure that I recommend this conductor to the attention of owners of buildings. 11. McMURTRIE. I am well satisfied that the Magnetic Lightning Rod, manufactured by Mr. Thomas Armitage, of Philadelphia, is the best that has ever been made• I have spent several years in the study of the laws , of electricity and magnetism, and have no hesita tion in saying that these Rods are constructed upon the only principle of safety. Thu electric aback is received and dispersed by the magnet at the top of the rod, and it would 1)0 impossible, according to the laws of totraction and repulsion, fora building to be injured by a stroke of light ning when protected by one of these rods. I have been acquainted with Mr. Armitage Ibr sev eral years, and befitre he commenced the mane facture of these rods I examined the principle t o which they are constructed, and felt convinced that their adoption would be attended with com plete success. The increasing demand for these rods, and the extensive sales in all parts of else country, is ample commendation of their utility and superiority. TRACY E. WALLER, M. D. Rising Sun, l'hilnd. co., April 10, 1852. The following extract is taken from nn editori al in the Germantown Telegraph, edited by M/kjor Fnons "The bogus rod placed upon our dwelling we hone had taken down; and another eroted by Mr. ARM a.tu E, to which we would call the attention of our farmers and readers generally. It is put up on true scientific principles, and is a rod that has been approved by the highest authority, and will bear the most thorough examination. Those who have been deceived, as we have boon, should lose no time in having a proper protection against lightning, substituted. The cost is a mere bag atelle when compared with the entire safety of our houses and barns against this destructive ele ment. Mr. ARMITAGE'S nil vertisemont will be found in the columns of this paper; and we feel as though we were performing an imperious duty to the community, by thus inviting to it general attention." PHILADELPHIA, Dee. 4, 1852. Mr. T. ARMITAGE, VirStreet„west of Twelfth StrcPt, Philadelphia.
