"No teacher or parent should be without the knowledge imparted in this invaluable work; it would save years of pain, mortification and sor row to the youth under their charge."—Peo ple's Adcocae.e A Presbyterian clergyman in Ohio, in writing of "Hunter's Medical Manual," says:— "Thousands upon thousands ofour youth, by evil example and the influence of the passions, have been led into the habit of self-pollution without realising the sin and consequence upon them selves and their posterity. The constitution of thousands, who are raising families have been enfeebled, if not broken down, and they do not know the cause or the cure. Any thing that can be done so to enlighten and influence the public mind as to check, and ultimately to re move this wide-spread source of human wretch edness, would confer the greatest blessing next to the religion of Jesus Christ, on the present and coming generation. London, graduate from one of the most eminent Colleges of the United States, and the greater part of whose life has been spent in the Hospitals of London, Paris Philadelphia, and elsewhere, has effected some of the most aston ishing cures that were ever known, many trou bled with ringing in the ears and head when asleep, great nervousness, being alarmed at end den sounds, and bashfulness, with frequent blush ing attended sometimes with derangement of mind, were cured immediately. A CERTAIN DMA/M.—lt is n melancholy fact that thousands fall victims to this horrid disease owing to the unskilfulness of ignorant pretenders who by the use of that deadly poison Mercury, ruin the Constitution, causing the most serious symptoms of that dreadful disease to make their appearance, such as affections of the hoed, nose, ,1 throat, skin, etc., progressing with frightful ra pidity till death puts a period to their dreadful suffering, by sending them io that Bourne whence no traveler returns. Tarts PAR TIC U LAR Nomu.—Young men who have injured themselves by a certain practice in dulged in when alone—a habit fiat! ucutly learned from evil companions, or at school—the effects of which are nightly felt, even when asleep, and if not cured renders marriage impossible, and de stroys both mind nod body. iVhat a pity that a young man, the hope of his country, and the darling of his parents should be snatched from all prospects and enjoyments of life by the consequence oldeviating from the path of nature and indulging in a certain secret habit. Such persons before contemplating Marriage, should reflect that a sound mind and body aro the most necessary requisites to promote connu bial happiness, Indeed without these, the jour ney through life becomes a weary pilgrimage, the prospect hourly darkens to the view; the mind becomes shadowed with despair, and filled with the melancholy iellection, that the happiness of another becomes blighted with our own. _ CONSTITUTIONAL BEBILITY.-Dr. J. address• es young men, and all who have injured them. selves by private and improper indulgence. IstruissANA.—These are some of the sad and melancholy cMcts produced by early habits of youth, viz: Weakness of the Back and Limbs, Pains in the head, Dimness of Sight, Loss of Muscular power, Palpitation of the heart Dys pepsia, Nervous Irritability, Detangements of the Digestive Functions, General Debility Symptoms of Consumption, &c. MENTALLY—The fearful effects on the mind are much to he dreaded; Loss of memory, Confusion of ideas, Depression of Spirit, Evil Forbodings; Aversion to Society, Self Distrust, Love of Soli tude, &e., are some of the evils produced. Thousands of persons of all ages, can now judge what is the cause of their declining health. Los ing their vigor, becoming weak, pale and emacia ted, have singular appearance about the eyes, cough and symtoms of consumption. Married persons, or those contemplating mar riage, being aware of physical weakness, should immediately consult Dr. J. and be restored to per fect health. As there are so many ignorant and worthless quacks advertising themselves us Physicians, ruin ing the health of the afflicted Dr. Johnston would say to these unacquainted with his reputation that his Credentials or Diplomas always hang in his office.
