Stray Heifer.

sides, in Henderson township, ono mile north

At a meeting of the Directors of the Hunting
don county mutual Insurance Company held et
the Court House in the Borough of Huntingdon
on Monday Sept. 6th 1852. On motion said
Company was organized, by appointing James
Gwin, Esq., Pres., and David Snare, Esq., Sec
retary and Treasurer. James Gwin, David Me-
Mimic and John Huyett were appointed an Ex
ecutive committee.
As soon as Blanks and instructions can be pre
pared; proper agents will be appointed to secure
applications for Insurance against fire. David
Snare of the Borough of Huntingdon is authorised
to grant Insurances inonedediutely on applica
tion. Payment for Insurances will not be re
quired untill the Policies are tendered to the ap

Shirleysburg Female Seminary.
The winter term, of the second year, of this In
stitution will commence on Tuesday the Id day of
Nocember.
The location is unsurpassed in salubrity of cli
taste and beauty of scenery—and a sufficient trial
has s•botrm that a flourishing institution can be
maintained here, notwithstanding the praisewor
thy so on the subject of education
throughout this entire region of country.
Additional improvements are in progress which
will taunt accommodation fop a lbw more hoard
ing scholars. The services oral very acconsplished
teacher of instrumental and vocal music, and of
the French languitge, have been secured.
Tile year is divided into two sessions of twenty
two weeks each. Eleven weeks constituting a
quarter.
No deduction made except in case of protracted
sickness.
TERMS.—Boarding and lodging, per week,
$1,511. Tuition $4,00 and $3,00. Instrumental
music, French, &c., extra.
The examinatiun of the pupils will com
mence ou Thursday 30th day of September, at

late Benjamin Johnston, deed., of Warriorsmurk
township, Huntingdon county, the subscribers,
