VEGETABLE CATTLE POWDER.
PREPARED BY
BRELMG, FRONEFIELD & CO.
The discovery of Bimini°, FRONEFIELD &
CO'S CELEBRATED CATTLE PolypEtt has set the
whole community alive to a new fact in regard to
feeding Cattle, both for the purpose of maintain
ing health and increasing the production of Fat,
Butter and Milk. The effect of their PownEn
has astonished every one, that has used it, and
the demand has been so large, that the proprietors
could scarcely supply it sufficiently fast for their
sales.
The immense popularity. it has obtained from
Farmers, Dairy Men and Horsemen, and the con
fidence and success with which they used it have
set the heads of other Druggists at work to make
an article, professing to be of equal merits, think
ing to take advantage of our POWDER'S popular
ity, and by, these means introduce other articles,
into the market, which has no affinity to oar pre
paration whatever. Every person knows, who has
read anything of Agricultural Chemistry, that no
powder possessing such qualities as that which we
prepare, was ever known in any part of Germany,
Europe or America. We advise all persons to
read Prof. Lcibigs works and see for themselves
whether they or any one else, ever knew of a
Cattle Powder in Germany, Europe or America,
that ever professed to have the same virtues,
which we claim for ours.
The Discovery is of American Birth, the off
spring of the PROPRIETORS, and there is no Cat
tle Powder sow known in the world, that was
ever manuthetured from the same Combination of
Chemical elements,
as that of BREINIG,
FRONEFIELI) & CO.
Do not therefore suffer yourselves to ho de
ceived, or think that our Powder is a humbug be
cause you have tried those Mongrel Substitutes
and found no good follow, but ruttier injurious re
sults. Never give an opinion unless you have
tried the only genuine VEGETABLE CATTLE Pow-
DER in the world, as compounded and prepared
by BIMINI°, VIIONEFIELD & Co., No. 187 North
Third Street, Philadelphia.
N. B. Do not be imposed upon and allow your
Animals to die or linger with disease because you
have fed the wrong Cattle Powder. This Signa
ture of BREINIG, FRONEFIELD CO.
is on the end of each pack of the genuine Article.

SECRET DISEASES.—GIeets, Strictures,
Seminal Weakness, Pain in the Loins, Affections
of the Kidneys, and all those Peculiar Affections
arrising from a SECRET HABIT, particularly the
youth of both sexes, which if not cored, produces
Constitutional Debility, rendering Marriage impos
sible'and in the end destroys both Mind and
Body.
YOUNG MEN Especially, who have become
the victims of Solitary Fire, that dreadful and
destructive habit which annually sweeps to an un-
timely grave thousands of young men of the most
exulted talents and brilliant intelect, who might
otherwise have entranced listning Senates with
the thunders of eloquence, or waked to ecstasy
the living lyre, may call with full confidence.
Married persons, or those contemplating marri

DR. JOHNSTON, Member of the Royal Col
lege of Surgeons. London, graduate from one of
the most eminent Colleges of the United States,
and the greater part of whose life has been spent
in the Hospitals of London, Paris, Philadelphia,
and elsewhere, has effected some of the most as
tonishing cures that were ever known, many
troubled with ringing in the ears and head when
asleep, great nervousness, being alarmed at sad
den sounds, and bashfulness, with frequent blush
ing, attended sometimes with derangement of
mind, were cured immediately.
A CERTAIN DISEASE.—It is a melancholy
fach that thousands fall Victims to this horrid dis
ease owing to the Unskillfulness of ignorant pre
tenders, who by the use of that deadly poison
Mercury, ruin the Constitution, causing the most
serious symptoms of this dreadful disease to make
their appearance, such as affections of the head,
throat, nose, skin, etc., progressing with fright
ful rapidity till death puts a period to their dread
ful suffering, by sending them to that Bourne
w'tence no traveler returns.
TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE.—Young
men who have injured themselves by a certain
practice indulged in when alone—a habit frequent
ly learned from evil companions, or at school—the
effects of which are nightly felt, even when asleep,
and if not cured renders marriage impossible, and
destroys both mind and body.
What a pity that a young man, the hope of his
country, and the darling of his parents should be
snatched from all prospects and enjoyments of life
by the consequences of deviating from the path of
nature and indulging in a certain secret habit.—
Such persons before contemplating.
MARRIAGE, should reflect that a sound mind
and body arc the most necessary requisitsts to
promote connubial happiness. Indeed, without
these, the journey through life becomes a weary
pilgrimage. the prospect hourly darkens to the
view; the mind becomes shadowed with dispair,
and filled with the melancholy reflection, that the
oappi-ness of another becomes blighted with our
awn.
CONSTITUTIONAL DEBILITY.—Dr. J.
hpf reuses young men, and all who have injured
litomselves by private and improper indulgence.
IMPUISSANE.—These aro some of the sad
and melancholy effects produced by curly habits of
youth, viz: Weakness of the Buck and Limbs,
Pains in the head. Dimness of Sight, Loss of
Muscular Power, Palpitation of the Heart Dys
pepsia, Nervous Irritability, Del angements of the
Digestive Functions, General Debility Symptoms
of Consumption, &c.
Xenia/ill—The fearful effects on the mind are
much to be dreaded; Loss of Memory, Confusion
of ideas, Depression 'of Spirit, Evil Turbodings,
Aversion to Society, Self Distrust, Love of Soli
tude. &c. are some of the evils produced.
Thousands of persons of all ages, can now judge
what is the cause or their declining hee.lth. Los
ing their vigor, becoming weak, pale and emacia
ted, I even singular appearance about the eyes,
cough and symptoms of consumption.
Me tried persons, or those contemplating marri
age, being aware of physical weekness, should
immediately consult Dr. J. and be restored to
perfect health.

CELEBRATED GERMAN BITTERS,
Prepared by
DR. C. SI. JACKSON,
AT THE GERMAN MEDICINE' STORE,
120 Arch Street. Philadelphia.
Their power over the above diseases is not ex
celled—if equalled—by any other preparation in
the United States, as the cures attest, in massy
cases after skilful physicians had failed.
These Bitters are worthy the attention of inva
lids. Possessing great virtues in the rectification
of diseases of the Liver and lesser glands, exer
cising the most searching powers in weakness and
affections of the digestive organs, they are withal,
safe, certain and pleasant.

I),. lloolimes Celebrated German Bitters for
the cure otlivet Complaint, Jaundice, Dyspepsia,
Chronic or Nervous Debility, is deservedly one of
the most popular medicines of the day. These
Bitters have been used by thonsands, and a friend
at our elbow says be had himself received an effec
tual and permanent cure of laver Complaint from
the use of this remedy. We are convinced that,
in the use of these Bitters, the patient constantly
gains strength and vigor—a fact worthy of great
consideration. They are pleasant in test and
smell, and can be used by persons with the most
delicate stomachs with safety, under any eircum-
stances. We are speaking ilom experience, and
to the afflicted we advise their use.
"SCOTT'S WEEKLY," OM of the best Literary
papers published, said Aug. 25
HOOFLANI,'S GERMAN BITTERS, manu
factured by Dr. Jackson, are now recommended
by some of the most prominent members of the
faculty as an article of much efficacy in cases of
female weakness. As such is the case, we would
advise all mothers to obtain tt bottle, and thus save
themselves much sickness. Persons of debilitated
constitutions will find these Bitters advantageous
to their health, as we know from experience the
salutary effict they have upon weak systems."

The "Philadelphia Saturday Gazette." the best

The editor says of
DR. HOOFLAND'S GERMAN BITTERS
"It is seldom that we recommend what are
termed Patent Medicines, to the cotidence and
patronage of our readers; and therefore when we
recommend Dr. Hootiand's German Bitters, we
with it to be distinctly understood that we are not'
speaking of the nostrums of the day, that are nois
ed about for is brief period and then forgotten atter
they have done their guilty race of mischief, but of
a medicine long established, universally prized,
and which has met the hearty approval of the the
ulty
Evidence upon evidence has been received (like
eau regoing) from all sections of the Union, the
also throw years, and the strongest testimony in its
favor, is, that there is more of it used in the prac
tice of the regular Physicians of Philadelphia, than
all other nostrums combined, a Ilia that can easily
be usablislied, and fully proving that n scientific
preperation will meet with their quiet approval
when presented even in this form.
Unit this Medicine will cure Liver Complaint
and Dyspepsia, no one can doubt after using it as
directed. It acts specifically upon the stomach and
liver; it is preferable to calomel in all bilious dis
cuscs—the effect is immediate. They can be ad
ministered to female or inilint with safety and re
liable benefit at any time.
BEWARE OF COUNTERFEITS.
This medicine has attained that high character
which is necesary lbr all medicines to attain to
induce counterfeiters to put forth spurious articles
at the risk of the lives of those who are innocently
deceived.

DR. J. S. HOUGHTON'S
'
PEPSIN
111111,
THE 'ITUE
DIGESTIVE FLUID,
OR, GASTRIC JUICE.
Prepared from Rennet, or the fourth
stomach of the ox, after directions of Baron
Liebig, the great Physiological Chemist, by J. S
Houghton, M. D. Philadelphia, Pa.
This is a truly wonderful remedy for Indigestion,
Dyspepsia, Jaundice, Liver Complaint, Consti
pation, and Debility, Curing after Nature's own
method, by Nature's own Agent, the Gastric
Juice.
(Er Ralf a teaspoonful of Parsix, lnfused in wa
ter,
will digest or dissolve, Five Pounds of Roast
Beff in about two hours, out of the stomach.
PEPSIN is the chief clement, or Great Digest
ing Principle of the Gastric Juice—the Solvent of
the Food, the Purifying, Preserving, and Stimula
tiny Agent of the Stomach and Intestines. It
is extracted from the Digestive Stomachs of the
Ox, thus forming, an Artificial Digestive Fluid,
precisely like the natural Gastric Juice in its
Chemical powers, and furnishing a Complete and
Perfect Substitute for it. By the aid of this
preparation, the pains and evils of Indigestion and
Dyspepsia are removed, just as they would be by
a healthy Stomach. It is doing wonders for Dys
peptics, curing cases of Debility, Emaciation, Ner
vous Decline, and Dyspeptic Consumption, sup
posed to be on the verge of thcgrave. The
Scientific Evidence upon which it is based, is in
the highest degree Curious and Remarkable.
SC I ENTFIC EVIDENCE!
BARON LEIBIG in his celebrated work on
Animal Chemistry, says: "An Artificial Diges
tive Fluid, analogous to the Gastric Juice, may
be readily prepared from the meat and eggs, will
be softened, changed, and digested, just in the
same manner as they would be in the human
stomach."
Dr. COMBE, in his valuable writings on the
" Physiology of Digestion," observes that " a
dimitution of the due quantity of the Gastric
Juice is a prominent and all-prevailing cause of
Dyspepsia;" and he states that " a ditinguished
professer of medicine in London, who was severe
ly afflicted with this complaint, finding everything
else to fail, had recourse to the Gastric Juice, ob
tained from the stomachs of living animals, which
proved completly successful."
Dr. GRAHAM, author of the famous works
