DR. ROSE'S DYSPEPTIC COMPOUND,
Tue Livait, being the largest -- tif;cli; the

its healthy action than any other. The con

wind, sour stomach, and sometimes Diarrhcea
or looseness of the bowels, head-ache, nervous
feelings, cold feet, wakefulness, and variable
appetite, &c. Secondly, if the above symp

Medicine, (which will always cure or remove

predisposition to consumption.
Dr. Rose has been called on by over TIMES
THOUSAND CASES within the last few years, and
many of them had tried the various bitter com

DR. ROSE'S VEGETABLE VERMI FUGE
This compound having been used by me in a
full practice of twenty-six years, with the most
beneficial results in cases of worms, has so well
established its superiority above most other
worm medicines that the demand has increased
beyond all calculation. All medicines should
be prepared by a physician and chemist. It is
true that many articles are now sold as good
for worms, but it should be remembered that
many are too powerful for the constitution of
young children. Price 25 cents.
DR. ROSE'S FAMILY OR SANITIVE

The editor said, Dee. 22nd
Dr. Hoojiand's Celebrated German Bitters for
the cure of Lives Complaint, Jaundice, Dyspepsia,
Chronic or Nervous Debility, is deservedly one of
the most popular medicines of the day. These
Bitters have been used by thousands, and a friend
at our elbow says he had himself received an ethic
mai and permanent cure of Liver Complaint li•om
the use of this remedy. We urn convinced that,
in the use of these Bitters, the patient constantly
gains strength and vigor—a tisct worthy of great
consideration. They arc pleasant in taut and
smell, and can be used by persons with the most
delicate stomachs with safety, under any circum
stances. We are speaking from experience, and
to the afflicted we advise their use.
"Scovr's WEEKLY," one of the best Literary
papers published, said Aug. 25
"DR. 1100FLAN0'S GERMAN BITTERS, manu
factured by Dr. Jackson, are now recommended
by some of the most prominent members of the
tiiculty as an article of much efficacy in cases of
&mate weakness. As such is the case, we would
advise all mothers to obtain a bottle, and thus save
themselves much sickness. Persons of debilitated
constitutions will find these Bitters advantageous
to their health, as we know from experience the
salutary effect they have upon weak systems."
MORE EVIDENCE.
The "Philadelphia Saturday Gazette." the best
family newspaper published in the United States,
The editor says of
DR. HOOFLAND'S GERMAN BITTERS
"It is seldom that we recommend what are
termed Patent Medicines, to the colidence and
patronage of our readers; and therefore when we
recommend Dr. Boothind's German Bitters, we
wish it to be distinctly understood that we are not
speaking of the nostrums of the day, that are nois
ed about for a brief period and then forgotten after
they have done their guilty race of mischief, hat of
a medicine long established, universally prized,
and which has met the hearty approval of the fac
ulty
Evidence upon evidence has been received (like
theforegoing) from all sections of the Union, the
last three years, and the strongest testimony in its
favor, is, that there is more of it used in the prac
tice of the regular Physicians of Philadelphia, than
all other HMVMIS combined, a fact that eau easily
be esablished, and fully proving that a scientific
preperation will meet with their quiet approval
when presented even in this form.
That this Medicine will cure Liver Complaint
and Dyspepsia, no ono call doubt after using it as
directed. It acts specifically upon the stomach and
liver; it is preferable to calomel in all bilious dis
eases—the effect is immediate. They can be ad
ministered to female or infant with safety and re
liable benefit at any time.
BEWARE OF COUNTERFEITS.
This medicine has attainatt that high character
which is necesary tbr all medicines to attain to
induce counterfeiters to put forth spurious articles
at the risk of the lives of those who are innocently

DIGESTIVE FLUID,
Of; GASTRIC JUICE.
Prepared from Rennet, or the fourth
stomach of the ox, after directions of Baron
Liehig, the great Physiological Chemist, by J. S.
Houghton, M. D. Philadelphia, Pa.
This is a truly wonderful remedy for Indigestion,
Dyspepsia, Jaundice, Liver Complaint, Consti

method, by Nature's own Agent, the Gastric
Juice.
cr Half a teaspoonful of PEPSIN, infused in wa

PEPSIN is the chief element, or Groat Digest
ing Principle of the Gastric Juice—the Solvent of
the Food, the Purifying, Preserving, and Stimuli,
tiny Agent of the Stomach and Intestines. It
is extracted from the Digestives Stomach of the
Ox, thus forming an Artificial Digestive Fluid,
precisely like the natural Gastric Juice in its
Chemical powers, and furnishing a Complete and
Perfect Substitute for • it. By the aid of this
preparation, the pains and evils of Indigestion and
Dyspepsia are removed, just as they would be by
a healthy Stomach. It is doing wonders for Dys
peptics, curing cases of Debility, Emaciation, Ner
vous Decline, and Dyspeptic Consumption, Sup

Scientific Evidence upon which it is bused, is in
the highest degree Curious and Remarkable.

Dr. COMAE, in his valuable writings on the
" Physiology of Digestion," observes that " a
dimikution of the duo quantity of the Gastric
Juice is a prominent and all-prevailing cause of
Dyspepsia;" and he states that " a ditinguished
Professer of medicine in London, who was severe
ly afflicted with this complaint, finding everything
else to fail, had recourse to the Gastric Juice, ob
tained from the stomachs of living animals, which
proved completly successfid."
Dr. GRAHAM, author of the famous works
on "Vegetable Diet„" says: "It is a remarkable
fact in physiology, that the rtomuchs of animals,
macerated in water, impart to the fluid the prop
erty of dissolving various articles of food, and of
effecting a kind of artificial digestion of them in
no wise different from the natural digestive pro
cess."
