The summer term of this boding institution closed on the 23d ult., with a public examination of the classes, which elicited good attention from a respectable audience. _ Tlie promptness, on the part of schollars, in an swering, was indicative of an acquaintance with their respective studies, to be gained only by a commendable degree of application on the part of both teacher and schollars. The essays written by the ladies and read at in tervals throughout the slay and evening, were in deed spicy and highly creditable, manifesting more than ordinary care in their preparation. All the prospects of this institution seem to brighten, and though there has been some unavoi dable delay in completing the seminary building now under way yet (Providence favoring) it will be finished early: and there is already sufficient ground to expect, when it is completed, a large accession to the number-in attendance, which haaalready been beyond expe'ctation. .
