The deceased was a native of Shippensburg,
hilt for more than half a century has been a res
ident of Huntingdon. He practiced medicine
with great success—indeed was at the head of
his profession. He was a man of strict integ
rity and great decision of character. He was
religiously educated, his parents being exempla
ry members of the Presbyterian Church, and it
will be consilling to his surviving friends to know
that, although he had made rid ,üblic profession
Of religion by connecting himself with the
Church, he, in his lasi illness, which was pro
tracted-,-being a disease of the: lungsexpressed
his entire reliance on the tileiits and mediation
Of the Hedeemer, and hii hOpe of salvation
