ARRIVAL OF THE CAMBRIA. r The steamship Cambria arrived at liiiston on Friday I:st, bringing intelli wince from London to the 14th instant. Her news is of considerable interest. Flour had advanced. Ohio was selling at 245. se. to 255. Philadelphia and Baltimore 245. The cotton market was dull, and a further decline from A to id. tier lb. had been experienced. England was quiet, but the prospect of a revi val of trade was not so flattering. The accounts of poverty and starvation in Ireland are most deplorable. The death 9f Dr. Croly, by cholera is announced. France was busy, preparing for her elec tions. The troops in Paris were suffer frig sadly from the cholera. Count Mon teinolin, the Spanish pretender, had been betrayed by a peasant, and arrested by the authorities. A body of 250 Lond oners recently arrived at Paris, on a visit to the National guard. t hangar- Pier and Cavaignac are to be complc. mented with the grand cordon of the Le gion of Honor. The people have gained a triumph in Genoa, and Tuscany is preparing to re sist thO encroachments of Austria. Rome Was quiet, though unsettled. The Pope Was still at Gaeta. The town of Brea- Pia has been captured by the Austrians, after a great slaughter by the inhabi tants. Genoa had been bombarded and set on fire, but at the last accounts, an armistice had been declared, with a view to an arrangement. Palmeri) and Venice were under blockade, the former by the Neapolitans, and the latter by the Austrians. A sanguinary battle had taken place in Catolonia, in which two generals were killed. A Danish fleet, in attempting to capture the fortress of Echernford on the sth inst., were utter ly defeated, and a line of battleship and a frigate fell into the hands of the for trier commander. The line of battle ship grounded, and taking fire, exploded with 700 on board. The King of Prus sia has refused the imperial crown of Germany. The report of the defeat of General Bern by the Russians, is con tradicted. These are among the prom inent items They seem quite enough for one week. The old world it is clear, is yet undergoing the throes and spasms of Revolution. TOE TRAGEDY OF NATIONS.—There is war in almost every quarter of Europe. In Italy the Austrians have destroyed Brescia, the blood of her inhabitants staining the ruins of their churches and their homes. Genoa has beep bombar ded for twenty-four hours by the Pied muntese troops for revolt and Republi canism. In Spain the old quarrel has resulted in a new battle, with its hor rors of dead and wounded, and no great principal to shed lustre on the gloom. Denmark is defeated by Germany, and defeated where she has hitherto been the victor—on the sea. In Hungary the Austrians are more decidedly losers than ever. Thirteen hundred of their dead strew a single field ; Puchner has fled to Russian protection in Wallachia, and Bern is master of Transylvania. The King of Prussia refuses the German crown, and all there is uncertainty.— France still plays the part of the spec tator, her Government making her false abroad, while by attempts to suppress thought, shackle the Press and gag speech at home, they make ready the new Revolution. Thus in doubt, struggle, suffering un speakable, dies the old Order that the new may rise from its ashes. Terrible, incomprehensible is the process, but let us believe that the result will be worth the pain.—.N. Y. Tribune. THE MARKETS. STOW, Esi., .ds;t. Clerk U. S. House Representatives. Ibrboner, wAsuiN. l4 ; p. C.,June 15,1846. Dn. GEO. B. Genii tililtDear Sir—l feel it not only a pleaeui e, but a duly, to make known to you and to the public, (if you desire it.) the sur prising effects of the Oxygenated Bitters," in relieving me from that most discouraging disor der, Dyspepsia. I have been afflicted fur about seventeen years with the usual attendant symp toms, viz: constipation of the bowels, headache, pain in the cheat, flatulence, acidity of the stom ach, and severe nausea ; and for months at a time not the least particle of moisture would appear on the surface of the chest or limbs, and most of (Ileum° I was extremely bilious. I hs,ve used various remedies, have been strict in my diet, have been dosed with calomel and emetics day after day by physicians, but all to no guts/ pur pose. Hearing of the wonderful effects of the Oxygenated Bitters," in the cure of Dyspepsia, I procured some as a last resort , have used four bottles of the medici, e, arid find the bad spiv , toms all removed, and myself once more in the enjoyment of health. None but the Dyspeptic sufferer, who has felt &I the horrors of the die ease, con at all appreciate the value of the medi -1 eine. I most sincerely hope that all will make trial of the medicine, and with me be able to re joice in the return of health. Lady Cured of Neuralgia. From Rev. THO.4IaS KIDDER, of Vermont. Wl:quaint, Vt., Aug. 8,1846. Dean Sin gives me great pleasure to in form you that the Oxygenated Bittern," with which you furnished my wife, has wrought a cure in her case. About two years since, my wife was violently attacked with neuralgia in the face, through the cheat, in the wrists and ankles. So violent was the disease, added to a general derangement of the female system, that her strength was completely prostrated, her flesh wasted, and she rendered miserable indeed. 1 feel grateful for the restoration of her health, and in duty bound to give publicity to the above facia, that others similarly afflicted may know where to seek for cure. Truly your friend, THOMAS KIDDER. From Hon. MYRON L.IIIVRENCE, of Mass. For some twenty years I had suffered eevefe• ly from humoral Asthma. I was compelled to sit up one-third of the night, and the rest of the time my sleep was interrupted by violent fits of coughing and great dam fly of breathing. In all my attendance upon our courts I never went to bed in Northampton in twenty years but twice, and then was compelled to get up. Now I lie in bed without ditfieulty, and sleep soundly. I took the " Oxygenated Bi ttcrs," according to directions. The violent symptoms immediately abated, and perseverance in the use of tl 0 rem edy has removed all its troublesome consequen ces. l'he value of such a remedy is incalculable, and I hope its virtues may be widely diffused and its beneficent agency extensively employed."
