    SHERIFF'S SALES.
BY virtue of sundry writ, ot Lerouria
Facias and Venditioni .Exponas,
issued out of the Court of Common Pleas
of Huntingdon county, and to me direc
ted, will he exposed to public sale, at the
Court house in the borough of Ilunting
don, on Monday the 14th day of August,
1843, the following property, viz:
The right and interest of James Dick•
son, and also the right and interest of
George APCtillough in and to the follow
ing described real estate, viz :—A tract
of land purchased of Frederick Hyskell,
situate in Warriorsmark township, con•
taining about 176 acres of first rate lime
stone land, of which about 70 acres are
cleared, adjoining land of G. & J. H. Sho
enberger, Funk, and others, having there
on a pipe ore bank and a house and barn.
also, a tract of good lime stone land,
adjoining the above, purchased of William
Addleman, situate in the said township,
containing about 70 acres, 25 of which are
cleared, with a house and barn thereon,
and a good well of water at the door.
Also, a piece of land containing about 4
acres, known as " Centre Line," situate
in said township, adjoining land of Gilbert
L. Lloyd and Jacob Cronester, having
three dwelling houses, a store room, a
frame stable, a black-smith shop, and a
limestone quarry thereon.
Ms°, a piece of land situate in the said
township, adjoining lands of G. & J. H.
Shoenberger, Gilbert L. Lloyd, John Spit
ler and Jacob Vau Tries, Esq., containing
about 5 acres, purchased from John Stone
braker for an ore bank, with a dwelling
house 18 feet by .24 thereon, for use of
the ore bank hands.
Also, the right of ore forever on 188
acres of land, situate in said township,
adjoining lands of U. & J. tl. Shoenber
ger, Joshua Coxe, and Jacob Cronester.
Seized, taken in execution to be sold
as the property of James Dickson, and
George M'Cullough, separately.
ALSO,
About one and a half acres of land be
the same more or less, situate on the wat
ers of the Standing Stone creek, a short
distance above McAleavy's Fort in Barree
township, Huntingdon county, adjoining
lands of Samuel Stewart, Samuel Mitch
ell and John Duff, thereon erected Barree
Furnace and stack, a clover mill and a
saw mill.
Seized, taken in execution, and to be
sold as the property or John Mitchell and
Thomas Mitchell.
ALSO,
A certain messuage, Ldge tool factory,
with the machinery thereto belonging,
smith shop, saw milt and tract of land,
situate in the township of Springfield, in
the county of Huntingdon aforesaid,
bounded by lands of Andrew Hagy, John
Blair, Walter B. Hudson, and others,
containing 73 acres, be the same more or
less, being the same premises which Rob
ert Speer granted and conveyed to the
said John Taylor, in fee.
Also, all that other tract of land, situ
ate in the township of Dublin in the coun
ty aforesaid, bounded by lands of Matthew
Taylor, Matthew Taylor, jr. and the
heirs of Robert Marshall and others, con
taining 84 acres, be the same more or less,
being the same premises which Matthew
Taylor granted and conveyed to the
said John Taylor in fee. And also the
undivided third of a tract of land, situate
in the same township, last aforesaid, boun
ded by lands of James Cilman, James
Carothers, heirs of James Patterson and
others, containing :200 acres, more or less,
being the same premises which Matthew
Anderson granted and conveyed to the
said John Taylor in fee, together with the
hereditaments and appurtenances. .

About 13 acres of cleared land, situate
in Shirley township, adjoining the borough
of Shirleysburg, Thomas Smelker and Geo.
Oliver ; said land being fenced and under
cultivation. Also, about 200 acres of
well timbered woodland, situate ►n Crum.

William Okeson and others. Also, all
the interest of defendant in a tract of
about 80 acres of limestone land, situate
in the said township of Shirley, adjoining
Abraham Long, Dr. Swine, George Oliver
and others, partly cleared and cultivated.

by lots in the town of llenrysburg, and
west by John Funk's land.

sold as the property of Samuel Robison.

All that certain frame building one sto
ry high, adjoining the foundry, erected on
Bellefonte street in the town of Duncans
ville in the county of Huntingdon, which
said building is 9.6 feet front by 20 back,
and the lot or illece of ground and curti
lege appurtenant to said building.

sold as the property of A. W. Kinney,
owner or reputed owner and contractor.

Alt that certain two story new brick
house, being 52 feet fronting the Turn
pike road, leading trout Hollidaysburg to
Pittsburg, and extending back 30 feet, and
situate en lot No. 6, in the town of Dun-
eansville. in the county or llontingolon,

contractor and owner or reputed owner.

Three quarters of an acre of ground,
situate at the west end of the town of '
Saulsburg, Barren township, and on the
south eastern side of the great road lead•
ing through slid town, having thereon a
tau yard with 12 vats, &e., a two story log
tan shop, a frame shed with machinery for
grinding bark, and a two story log dwell
ing house. Also a piece or parcel of land
in said township, containing 23 acres and
155 perches, about 18 acres of which are
cleared and in cultivation, adjoining lands
of l'e ter Livingston, John Waldsmith and
William Hirst, Esq.
Seized, taken in execution, and to be
sold as the property of Phineas Runyan.
ALSO,
The one undivided half of all that tract
of land situate in Henderson township,
Huntingdon county, adjoining the Juniata
river, Jacks Mountain and land of A.
Vandevander's heirs, composed of two
adjoining surveys, one in the name of
Daniel lgow, and the other in the name of
Stephen Duncan & James M'Allister,
containing about 135 acres and 18 per
ches, about SO acres of which are cleared,
having an apple orchard and a cabin house
and stable thereon.
Also, a tract of unseated land in said
township Henderson, surveyed in the
name of Jacob Miller, containing 57 acres
and 146 perches, adjoining; lands of Jacob
Fockler, David Rupert, William Steel's
heirs and others.

335 acres 65 perches and allowance in
Allegheny township, being part of a tract
of land, surveyed in pursuance of a war
rant for 400 acres the 11th June 1840,
granted in the name of Georg e Arble the
23rd January, 1840, bounded by lands of
Joseph Young, Cassidys, and the Alle
gheny Mountain, being the whole of the
land surveyed in pursuance of said war
rant, With the exception of about 65 acres
sold by George Arble to John Colyer,
having thereon a three story log house and
stable, and some cleared land,

and county of Huntingdon, adjoining

others, containing 415 acres, be the same
more or less, (being the same tract of land
which James Sias, by indenture, dated
11th Dec. 1832, granted and conveyed to
the said George Lane,) together with the
heretlitaments and appurtenances.

Lot No.lo, in the northern liberties of
the borough of Hollidaysburg, fronting 60
feet on Juniata street, and extending back
170 feet, thereon erected a two story
frame dwelling house and a small frame
building.

ALSO,
A lot of ground situate in the town of
Gaysport, Huntingdon county, situate on
the easterly side of Newry street, and
fronting on said street 180 feet, from
Penn's. street to Porter alley, and along
said alley 60 feet more or less, to the cor
ner of lot No. 77, and extending along to
line of said lot at right angles to Perin'a st.
and on front of said street 30 feet more or
less, as laid out on the ground and mar
ked No. 76, in the general plan of said
town, thereon erected a two story brick
dwelling house. Also, a lot or piece of
ground, situate in the said town of Gays
port, consisting of parts of lots, numbered
73, 74 and 75 in the said town, commen
cing on the north west corner of Newry
and Penn's streets, and extending thence
along the said Penn's street 128 feet to the
west corner of lot No. 73, on the corner of
Ilethertington alley, thence N. 50 feet
along the east aide of said alley, thence
east 147 feet to Newry street, thence along
Newry street 50 feet to the beginning,
thereon erected a two story brick dwelling
ins house. Also those two adjoining lots
of ground situate on the east side.of Basin
street, fronting on said street 180 feet,
and extending at right angles along Penn's
street 120 feet, and thence at right angles
to Porter all .ty 120 feet to said Basin
street, numbered 82 and 83, in the plan of
said town. Also, a lot or piece of ground
situate on and being the south eastern
part, of the Island in the Juniata river op
posite lots No. 1 and 2, in the plan of the
town of Gaysport, containing about one
half an acre, be the same more or less.

All that certain frame building, three
and one halt stories high, situate on the
Turnpike Road leading from Huntingdon
to Pittsburg, in the borough ut Gaysport,
in the county of Huntingdon, 30 feet front
and 34 feet back, erected and situated on
lot No. 0, according to the plan of said
borough, and the lot c.r piece of ground
and curtilege appurtenant to said building.

All the right title and estate of Geo.W.
Pennock to or in all that certain planta
tion or tract of land situate in Cromwell
township, consisting of two parcels of ad
joining land in said township on the bank
of the Big Aughwick Creek, bounded by
other lands of Geo. W. Pennock, land
formerly owned by Jonathan Doyle and
others, containing 232 acres and 109 per
ches, having a two storied lo g house, a
double log barn thereon, and about 100
acres of cleared land. Also, a small tract
of land adjoining the above and last de
scribed tract, containing 50 acres and 45
perches, more or less, and bounded by
said last described tract, lands of Widow
Sharer, land formerly owned by Charles
Prosser and others, to which small tract of
land is attached a water previlege on said
Augewick Creek on the land formerly
owned by Charles Prosser, the same being
the previlege of erecting a dam &c.--the
said land and prevdege being the same
that were sold by Samuel Carothers to
Geo. W. & Joel Pennock.

han, and running northward from said
corner lot on Cherry Alley, 82 feet along
Front street to the other portion of the
said lot, thereon erected a two story frame
house and a small back building.

thence West 58 feet, thence South and
parallel with Bedford street eight feet,
thence West 150 feet to an Alley, thence
South 50 feet along said Alley, thence
East 151 feet to the place of beginning—
thereon erected a two story brick dwelling
house and a frame shop, and frame stable.

Holliduysburg, on lot No. St in the plan
of said town .and curtilege appurtenant

daysburg, aforesaid (being the breadth of
the ground occupied by the said brick buil
ding) to extend back at right angles 180
feet to Cherry Alley.

Two lots of ground situate in the bo
rough of Gaysport in the county of Hun•
tingdon, on the South %Vest side of Bed
ford street, being 60 feet each in front,
and extending 180 feet back to an Alley
the same being numbered 44 and 45 in
the plan of said borough (being the same
two lots of ground which were by Deed,
or Record, conveyed to said Joseph Kemp
by Dr. P. Shoenberger) on which are erec
ted a two story weather boarded house
and a frame stable.

sold as the property of Joseph Kemp and
Jeremiah Cunningham, trading under the
firm of Kemp & Cunningham.

All that certain furnace for smeltin;
iron ore, named and called "Chester Furl
nace," a casting house, bridge house and
coal house, erected and situate on the fol
lowing described lot or piece of ground—
beginning at a gum tree, thence north
forty.four degrees east twenty-two per•
ches to a stump. thence south thirty de•
gress west, thirty-three perches to a
stump, thence south fifty-two degrees
east nineteen perches to a stump, thence
north forty-two degrees west, twenty-two
perches to the place of beginning, lying
and situate in Cromwell township, in the
county of Huntingdon, and being part of a
tract of land which was conveyed to the
said Joel Pennock & George \•V. Pennock,
by John Potts and wife, by deed dated
24th May, 1837.

A LSO,
All that lot and a half of ground situate
on the northerly side of the Turnpike
Road, in the borough of Gaysport, in the
couuty of Huntingdon, fronting 90 feet on
the said road, and extending back at right
angles to same to the bank of the Juniata
river, bounded on the east by a lot of
Peter Boyles, and on the west by a lot of
Jacob Lex, having thereon erected three
brick buildings fronting the whole breadth
of said lot and a half, on the Turnpike
Road and frame stable, the back part of
said lot of ground adjoining the river is
protected by a wharf eight feet high.

sold as the property of John Bauslough.
ALSO,
The one undevided half part of a tract
or parcel or land, situate in Franklin town
ship, Huntingdon county, containing about
318 acres be the same more or less, boun
ded by lands of the heirs of Evan Crane,
ilec., Samuel Jones and others, about 150
acres of which are cleared, having two
dwelling houses, one frame and the other
of hewed logs, and a frame barn and other
buildings and an apple orchard thereon.

IS HEREBY GIVEN, that in all cases, when

$5O 00, the whole amount of the purchasa
must be paid immediately into the hands
of the Sheriff; and it the purchase exceeds
that sum, then the amount (viz : $5O 00,)
must be paid into the hands of the Sheriff
immediately after the property is ttricken

ranged with the Shoriff and fully secured
to be paid, to his satisfaction ; or else the
property will be again put up and sold.
This rule will positively be strictly ad
' tiered to, and purchasers, whether able to

son, President of the Court of Common
Pleas, Oyer and Terminer, and general
jail, delivery of the 20th judicial district of
Pennsylvania, composed of the counties
of Huntingdon, Mifflin and Union, and
the Hon. Joseph Adams and James ()win,
his associates, Judges of the county of
Huntingdon, justices assigned, appointed,
to hear, try, and determine all and every
indictments, and presentments, made or
taken for or concerning all crimes, which
by the laws of the state are made capital
or felonies of death and other offences,
crimes and misdemeanors, which have
been or shall be committed or perpetrated
within said county, or all persons who are
or shall hereafter be committed or be per
petrated for crimes aforesaid—l am com
manded to make
Public Proclamation,
throughout my whole bailiwick that a
Court of Oyer and Terminer, of Common
Pleas and Quarter Sessions, will be held
at the Court [louse, in the Borough of
Huntingdon, on the second Monday (and
14th day) of August next, and those who
will prosecute the said prisoners, be then
and there to prosecute them as it shall be
just, and that all Justices of the Peace,
Coroner and Constables within the said
county, be then and there in their proper
persons, at 10 o'clock A. M. of said day,
with their records, inquisitions, examina
' lions and remembrances, to do those
things which to their offices respectively
appertain.

ges, mills or machinery of nay description ;
wagon boxes of all descriptions, ect., which
can be had on as good terms as they can be
had at any other foundry in the county or
state. Remember the Rockdale Foundry.
