The deceased was a native of Franklin county, I a. and son of Gen. John Rea, of that county. He removed when a boy to Emmitsburg, Md., to engage in the mer cantile business, and in his unceasing at tention and diligent application to this pursuit, the seeds of that disease were sown which impaired his constitution and terminated in death. 'talon of life. he was endeared to all who knew 'dm, and in his premature death, a wile and numerous friends aro left to , mourn their irreparable loss. He looked forward to his approaching i end as nigh at hand; and encouraged and sustained by the invitations of the Saviour, and promises of the Gospel, was enabled to contemplate it with Christian compo sure and resignation.—Standurd. A Revolutionary Patriot Gone.— De• parted this life, on Thursday, July Ist, at the residence of his sun, in Morris town. ship. The d , ceased patriot saw his latter end' approaching for several months, and with the courage of a soldier of the Redeemer of mankind, met Death, the King of l'er• rors ; and by the gracious influence of the Holy Spirit, was assured of his adoption into the family of God. lie resigned his spirit into the hands of Hun who gave it, without a murmur or a groan. His funeral was attended by a large number of friends and neighbors, and the volunteers of Williamsburg. The youog and old, high and low, were alike eager to testily then• respect for the great and im portant services of the deceased patriot.
