portion of the well trained spaniels of the , party joined in with the Governor, While, the More refractory subordinates denoun red him as a traitor to his party and prin ciple, and openly insinuated that the itch ing palm of honest Davy had been touch ed by the golden wand of the Banks. A resolution was immediately introduced agreeing to spay interest, on the interest due, but, before they could even pass that, another message, also in another nolumn, announced the fact, that th e Banks had taken the loan. This consti tutes nearly the whole business of the Session thus far. The resolution offered to repeal the charter of the U. S. Bank, remains •ender the table, we suppose, from the fact that the Monster really took the loan herself, at 5 per cent, though il called on, under her chat ter, she is bound to lend at 4 per cent. Thus the people can see the hollow hearted opposition of t hese Locos to Banks. A Ft hole hog.—We see in many of •ur exchange papers, notice take of some large hogs killed in their districts. We, think we can beat them all. Mr John, Alexander of• Morris township, of this county, slaughtered a hog which weighed when clean 802 pounds. "Old Morris" knows how to do a Mg thing. There were also two other "chunks of pigs" killed in Walker township—Mr. A. San• gree killed one. weighing 527; and Mr J. Patton another, weighing 520, can any of you beat that ? Tula FAMILY. -If there are any joys on earth which harmonize with those of Heaven, they are the joys of a christian family. When the snowflakes fall fast in • winter's evening, what is so delighfull as to see the happy little ones sporting around a blazing fire. Look at the little ! creature in her night dress, frolicking and laughingas though she ',ever had known, and never would know a care. Now she rails upon the carpet, and now she climbs the chair, and now she pui sues her older elate, around the room, while her little heart is overflowing full of happiness.— Who does not covet the pleasurahe emoti ons with which the parents look upon the scene --and what sacrifices can he more acceptable to our Heavenly Father, than the incense of prayet• and praise which as sends daily front our family altar. .
