Another of those lamentable occurrences has
taken place in our city, which it has been our
melancholy duty to rsoord on several occasions
before

or three Germans were standing upon the corner
of Third street and Avenue A, conversing, aid
having become ekeited upon the subject in dis
pute, and as is usual among Germans raising
their voioes to something of a pitch, they were
soon accosted by two of the new Metropolit'aa
Policemen, and, peremptorily ordered off the col..
ner ; this demand they appeared willing to com•
ply with, but not being as quick u suited their
so* highnesses, one of the men received a blow
from one of the officer's clubs.
