There are two passions, Rage and Fear, anal
ogous in origin, but diametrically diverse in re
sult. Analogous in origin, we• say. for both
arise from the apprehension of personal or social
injury But diverse in result; fir Rage has ma

opment; whereas Fear is the meanest, the most
treacherous and vile of all the passions of the

orgies with which she received and celebrated
