Syracuse, the great disturbance and murder in Boston, the
fugitive case in New York, and the tumults attending the

STREET PRTACHING AND RIOTING —Again
ha- the Sabbath day been desecrated by street

sembled in the Park, where a would-be martyr
held forth, having unfurled above him the na

more disposed to frolic than fight, and no distur
bance occurred. But in Brooklin yesterday af
ternoon a fearful riot took place, during which
several persona were shot, and between thirty
and forty others severely injured, by being beat
with clubs, atones, and other missels. It is a mir

A RETURN - ED SLAVE.—Some time ago, Mr.
Robert Moore. of Dahlonega, Georgia, permit

The gentleman having recently died in the last
named State, - the Piave at once made arrange

York, he was-careful to avoid the clutches of the
abolitionists, who, he justly feared, would kidnap
him and frustrate his designs. He was success

Baltimore on Saturday. He immediately sought
a magistrate in that city, whom he induced to
accompany him to Washington, for the purpose
of cooterrtug with the Hon. A. H. Stephens, a
friend of his muter. The result is, that last
night, this gentleman, who bad previously de

ACCIDRST.--The Butler Whig says &gout two
wet`zs ago, Thompson Turk, a young man who
resided in Centre township, left home for the pur
pose, it was supposed, of visiting a neighbor's.
He continued absent for several days, but it cre
ated no alarm as he was in the habit of remain
ing away several days at a time. In the early
part of last week, a lad in passing through a piece
of woods in the neighborhood had his attention
arrested by a noisome stench, and on examining
for the cause of it, discovered the dead body of
Mr. Turk, crushed under the trunk of a fallen
tree, and in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Deceased bad an axe with lam, and it is suppos
ed he felled the tree for the purpose of securing
some wild animal, and that he had been struck
and crushed b/Its fall.

built in the town of Menosha a singular looking
craft, one hundred feet long, containing a tibiu

full set of machinery for grinding clay and man

deck. The proprietor designs, as the navigable

Mississippi rivers in his ark, stopping when - night
overtakes him, exhibiting the manner of manu

benighted inhabitants of the region. He antici
