The moment a. man is satisfied that he
lias taken cold, let iitui'do three things :
1 "iit, tat nothing: second, go to bed,
cover up warm iu ;t warm room ; th;r !,
drink no much cold water ;is he can, or as
he waul.-, or as much hot herb tea as ho
can ; and in three cases out ot lour ho
will be almost well in thirty-MX hours;.
If he does nothing for his cold lor forty
eight hours after the cough commence.-',
there is nothing that he can swallow, that
will by any possibility, uno-t the cold,
for, with such a start, it will run its course
of a fortnight in tpite of all that can be
done, and w hat is swallowed in the mean

mischievous lallacy. A cold always
brings a lever ; the cold never begin to
get well until the fewr subsides : but every
mouthful swalilovvcd is that much to feed
the lever; and but for the iact that as

a kind of desperation steps in and takes
away the appetite, the commonest cold
would be followed by very serious results,
and in iir.il pce'ple would be adwuys '

Intelligent druggists know that all mcdi
