fpoech made by Gov. Curtin, in Helle
fonte, in 1 800, a few days after the elec
tion. Hear him :

This truthful phrophecy has been fully
realized by the tax-payers of Pennsylva
nia. We have been under the Governor's
"feet "and the "fight" has progressed
favorably, but it has not yet been defi
uitely settled on whose " side the odds
will be." 'Hie ides of October will fi
nally settle that question.
An Important Decision. In the Su
preme Court at lJoston, some days ago, a
verdict of five thousand seven hundred
and fifty dollars was given against the
Fitchburg liailroad Company in favor of
Mr. Johnston arren, for damages sus
tained by him. The Koston 'Traveller
pays :
" Tho Court ruled in this case that it
was carelene83 on the part of the corpo
ration to run a train at full speed over
the track between the depot and another
train Ptanding on ihe outer track waiting
for passengers to get on board. It was
also ruled that the corporation having
