Sectiox 1. Be it ordained by the Burgess
and Town Council of the Borough of Carrol 1
tewn, and k i hereby ordained by the author
ity tbe Ann. Thitfrenu and a f tt the first
day of May A. D. 1860. no person or persons,
shall be allowed to hitch any horse, mare or
gelding or any other animal, witkiu ten feti
trom the outside limits of the streets, or either
side of the streets within said Borough of Car
rolltown. Provided however, that any person
or person?, ai.iy erect hitching posts, for the
pur ose of hitching norses or other animals, ten
leet from the outside of said streets, and in the
manner and on the ground as directed l3 the
Street Commissioner of said Borough of Girro'I
town. Any peison or persons, violating the
provisions .f this section, shall be subject to a
tine of FIFTY CENTS for the first, ai.d ONE

house in said Borough, and that every person or
occupier of any house in the Borough of Carroll
town. is required to build a chimney secure of fire
proof and as directed by the Committee of lu
spti3u appointed for that purpose by the Town
Council of said Borough of Carrolltown. Any
person or persons violating the provisions of this
section, or any part thereof, shall be liable to a
fine of FIVE DOLLARS, to be lecovered as like
penalties are recoverable bv law.
