    Foruard tlic Spring Work Vow.
Take time by the forelock, ia as good a
maxim for farmers as for others; while there
are some kinds of labor that can only be per
formed at particular scaaoas, there are others
that can be done at any time, when the wea
ther favors out door operations. The spring
iu all northern part af oar country is a very
brief season, and upon the farm, it is usually
over Growled with work Stack farmers es
pecially, leave every thing to this season.
The manure is not carted until the ground is
settled; the ploughing is put off until May,
and the planting until June; the potatoes and
oats that flourish best ia Oil weather, are
forced to mature in the heat of dogdays and
rot, rust and smut, are often the result of the
late sowing and planting.
Something can be doae even at this season
to help on the spring work. The wood house
is, or ought to be already filled so that the
axe will Dot need to be lifted to prepare full
from March to December. A good part of
the manure can be carted now, much better
than in planting time. The ground is now
frozen so that the cart path to the field to be
ploughed, is soon worn as smooth as a rail
road. It will bs a much less tax upon the
strength of a team to draw a hundred loads
of manure now than to do it ia April, when
the team is pressed with ploughing and oth
er farm work
It is pretty well established j

way with muck aid loam, does net lose much j
of its value, when piled up in Winter ia large
heaps in the field where it is used. From
our own experience we do not think green
stable manure would be injured by the same
treatment, if it were well mixed ia the field
with muck or poat. The piles should be made
Ion?, narrow and high, say five or six feet so ,
a3 to shed a part of the rain .

fine compost, there is no better time than
the present to do it. The sward will net be
cut up and the warm Spring rains will carry
down the fertalizing properties of the roots of
plants. This must not be done however, on
rolling land, or on steep hill sides where the
rains would wash off part of the manure be
fore the frost comes out of the ground. "
A large portion of the Spring work can be
anticipated before Winter breaks up, and
then the farmer can seize upon taa best to
plant and sow, and drivo his vrorL: all Ij rough
the season instead of being diiven. Ameri

TME FARJJ.
This is the season for the thought crop
The seed may be obtained from the past years
experience of yourself and ethers, and books
and papers will furnish a still wider choice.
New thoughts are both capitol and tools.
Thinking men commands success. Let the
home department receive due attention. Set
tle outstanding accounts, and as far as prac
ticable, start square with the year. Improve
the farm on paper. Lay drains and build
walls with pen and ink, plant fields with pen
cil and ruler. Get the whole farm and its fu
tare operations by heart, and thus become
ready for the coming campaign. Then en
large good farming into good "neighboring."
Start the farmer's club, urge forward neigh- j
borhood improvements, better roads, superior
school-houses, and whatever the public need
These labors will fill the leisure of Winter
pleasurably and with proc. lb.

I Above we preseut you -with a likeness of DR.
. MOKSE the inventor of MOUSE'S INDIAN
ROOT PILLS. This philanthropist has spent
' the greater part of his life in traveling, having
J visited Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well, as
i North America has pent three years among
j the Indians of our Western country it was in
this M ay that the Indian Hoot l'uls were hrst
discovered, Dr. Morse was the first man to es
tablish the fact that all diseases arise from IM
PURITY OF THE BLOOD that our strength,
health and life depended upon this vital 1'uid.
When the various passages become clogged,
and do not act in perfect harmony with the dif
ferent functions of the body, the Llood loses its
action, become thick, corrupted, and diseased :
thus causing ail pains, fcickness and distress of
every name; our strength is exhausted, our
health we arc deprived of, and if rat'.re is not
assibted in throwing oil' the stagnant hmuors, the
blood will become choked and cease to act, and
thus our light of life will forever be blown out.
Hov impoitant thftu that we should keep the
various passages ot the booy free and open. Anil
' how pleasant to us that we have it iu our power
i to put a medicine in your reach, namely, Morse's
! Indian Root Tills, manufactured from plants and
i roots which grow around the tuouatamoos cliJIs
t in Iature s Garden, fur tne fiealth and recovery
i of diseased man. One of the roots from which
: these l'ills are made is a Sudorific, wLich opens
j the pores of the skin, and as&ists Nature in
j throwing out the finer parts of tho corruption
: within. The second is a plant which is asi Ex
I pectorant, that opens and unclogs the passage to
! the lungs, and thus, ia a soothing manner, per
; forms its duty in throwing oft phlegm, aud other
; humors from the lungs by copiou? spitting. The
' third is a Diuretic, which gives double ease and
; strength to the kidneys ; thus encouraged, they
j draw large amounts of impurity from the blood,
j which is then thrown out bountifully by the uri
' nary or water passage, and which could not have
; been discharged in any other way. The fourth
' is a Cathartic, and accompanies the other proj
i ertics of the Tills while engaged iu purifying the
j blood ; the coarser particles of impurity which
cannot pass by the other cutht. are thus taken
! up and conveyed off in great quantities by the
; bowels.
From the above, it is (shown that Dr. Mode's
Indian Hoot Pi!l3 not oidy enter tho stomach.
but become united with the blood, f.r they find
j way to every part, and completely rout out and
cleanse the system from all impurity, n 1 the
! life of the body, which is the blood, becomes per
j fectly heauliy : consequently ail sickness and
! Iain is drivca from the svsteui, fur they cannot,
' remain when the body becomes so pure and
th-ar.
The reason vhypeople are so distressed when
s':k, and why so m?.ny die. is because they do
! r ot 't a medicine which will pats to the afilic
i t J parts, and which wi!l open tin natural pas
' sf.g-i fr the disease to' be cast out; hence, a
! large quantity cf food and other matter is lodg
j e l. and the stomach and intestines are literally
j oversowing with tha corrupted mass; thus un
! dergoing a disagreeable fermentation, constantly
mixing with the blood, which, throws the ccr-
rupted matter through every vein and artery,
! umil life :s taken from the body by disease. Dr.
Morse's TIIJJS have ediied to themselves victory
j upon victory, by restoring millions of the sick to
j blooming health and happiness. Yes, thousands
.who have been racked or tormented with sick
j neas, pain and anguish, and whose feeble frames
j have been scorched by the burning elements of
! raging fever, and who have been brought, as it
I were, within a step of the silent grave, now
i s'.av. 1 ready to testily that they would have been
numbered with tiie uead, had it not been for
t his great and won lerful medicine. Morse's In
dian Hoot Til's; After one or two doM.-s had
been taken, they were astonished, and absolutely
I surprised, in witnessing tlieir charming effects,
i Not only do they give immKliate ease and
strength, and take away all sickness, pain and
anu'-h. l ut they at once go to work at the
f i':;..!:.:i;n f the disease, which is the Mood.
Ti ertf- re, it will be shown, especially by those
who us th' .-c Tills, that they will cleanse and
purify, thjt dieos? that deadly enemy will
take its l.i-ht, and the flush of youth and beauty
will a ; ain r-lv.n.. and the prospect of a lon and
j happy lifi v.iil cherish and brighten your days.
