It is a fact that, at some period, every mem ber of the human family is subject to disease or disturbance of the bodily functions ; but, . with the aid of a good tonic and the exercise of plain common sense, they may be able so to regulate the ejstcm as to secure permanent health. In wd-to -accomplish this desired object, the true course to pursue is certainly that 'which will produce a natural state of things at thc least hazard of vital strength and life. For this purpose, Dr. Hostetter has in troduced to this country a preparation bearing his name, wliich is not a new medicine, but one that has been tried for years, giving satisfac tion t all who have used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon the stomach, bowels, and liver, restoring them to a healthy and vigorous action, and thus, by the simple pro cess of strengthening nature, enable the sys tem to triumph over disease. For the cure of Pyspepsia, Indigestion, Nau sea, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, or any Bilious Complaints, arising from a morbid inaction of the Stomach or Bowels, producing Cramps, Dysentery, Colic, Cholera Morbusr these Bitters have no equal. Diarrhoea, dysentery or flux, so generally con tracted by new settlers, and caused principally by the change of water and diet, will be speedily regulated by a brief use of this preparation. Dyspepsia, a disease which is probably more prevalent, in all its various forms, than any other, and tho , f uso ..of which may always be attributed tq derangements of the digestive organs, can be cured without fail by using IIOSTETTER'S STOMACH BITTERS, as per directions on the bottle. For this disease every physician will recommend Bitters of some kind ; then why not use ah article known to be infal lible ? All nations have their Bitters, as a pre ventive of disease and 6trengthcner of the sys tem in general ; and among them all there is not to be found a more healthy people than the Germans, from whom this preparation ema nated, based upon scientific experiments which have tended to prove the value of this great, preparation in the scale of medical science. Fever and Aan This trying and provok ing disease, which fixes its relentless grasp on the body of man, reducing him to a mere sha dow in a short time, and rendering him phy sically and mentally useless, can be driven from the body by the use of IIOSTETTER'S RENOWNED BITTERS. Further, none of the above-stated diseases can be contracted, even in .exposed situations, if the Bitters are used as per directions. And as they neither create nausea nor offend the palate, and render un-' necessary any change of diet or interruption of ordinary pursuits,; but promote sound sleep -and healthy digestion, the complaint is re-, moved as speedily as is consistent with the pro duction of a thorough and permanent cure. For Persons - Advanced Years, who are suffering from an enfeebled constitution and infirm body, these Bitters are invaluable as a restorative of strength and vigor, and need only be tried to be appreciated. And to a mother while nursing these Bitters are indis pensable, especially where the mother's nour ishment is inadequate to the demands of the child, consequently her strength must yield, and here it is where a good tonic, such as Hostetter's Stomach Bitters, is needed t o impart temporary strength and vigor to the system. Ladies should -by -all means try this remedy v for all cases of debility, and, before so doing, should ask their physician, who, if he is acquainted with the virtue of thc Bitters, wiU recommend their use in all cases of weakness. CAUTION. Wc CAUtion tho publio-against using any of the many imitations or counterfeits, but ask for HostettkiTs Celebrated 5toxach Bitteks, and seo that caoh bottle has tho words "Dr. J. UMPIIREY'S SPECIFIC HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDIES, No. 562 BROADWAY. : THE GREAT FEATURE Of this series of Domestic Remedies is that each particular medicine is a Specific for the partic ular disease or class of disease whose name it bears, and may be relied upon for the euro of that particular affection. Hence, persons suffer ing from a chronic disease or long-standing ail ment, in buying a case of IIciipnaET's Specifics obtain the panicular one desired in their case, and thus themselves make a cure which other wise would cost them many dollars, and no small amount of time and medical attendance, if, in deed, it could be obtained at all. Thus multitudes suffer from Dtspepsi a, Bil ious Condition. Costivknkss, Sad Taste, Coated Tongue and Deisility, which is per fectly controlled and cured by the DYSPEPSIA SPECIFIC. There is scarcely a phase or form of this dis ease which is not promptly controlled and ulti mately cured by the use of this Specific. Thous ands who have suffered for years with this "Bilious Couditiou" having purchased a case of these Specifics, have obtained a perfect cure and immunity from their old complaint. COUGHS, COLDS AND SORE THROATS, which so frequently lead to BRONCHITIS AND CONSUMPTION are all in their early stage secured bv the COUGH PILLS. " Many cases of long standing Bronchitis and irri tating Coughs have been perfectly cured by this Specific. But more ! many persons have""n spe cific liability to colds and take them from the least exposure. This will le entirjly relieved by the use of the COUGH PILLS, as scores can testify from experience. So CATARRH is one of our most common and most troublesome diseases, against which the Old School Medicines and even Homoeopathic prescriptions, are of veiy little use. Yet hundreds of persons have been cured of not only recent and fresh, but even long standing and obstinate, cases of CATARRH by the use of this specific. One aged lady in Syracuse was thus perfectly cured of a Catarrh, which had annoyed her all her life. And a young lady at ore of our first class boarding schools, who wasSo afflicted with this disease as to require more than forty hand kerchiefs a week, was entirely cured in a single week by this Specific. TILES. bleeding and blind, some of those common and obstinate forms of disease which are so difficult to cure by the ordinary methods, but which find an entire and fundamental cure in the Piles Spe cific. True, time is required ; but the Specific is pleasant to take, requires neither dist nor re straint, and being followed up a perfect cure is the result. Hundreds of persons, in purchasing a case of Specifics, have obtained a cure for this most trying and obstinate form of disease, which has been worth to them teu times the cost of the entire set. Cases of over twenty years' stand ing have been cured by tlr.s simple Specific, and we believe may be cured by perseverance. The case contains thc best FEVER AND AGUE SPECIFIC known. A remedy without any deleterious or poisonous substance, which not only euros the ague, and old, mismanaged agues, but may be relied upon as a preventive when persons are re siding in a fever and ague district. It prevents or protects upou the same principle that vaccina tum prevents small pox or belladonea prevents scarlet fever, by pre occupying the system with the true Specific. Huudreds have been thus protected and cured. THE OPTHALMY SPECIFIC has proved a most invaluable remedy for SOME EYES and EYELIDS, and for WEAK and BLURRED SIGHT. One lady in Indiana, who had been a sufferer from sore eyes for many years, and for two 3'e irs was entirely blind, was cured perfectly by the Opthalmy Specific alone. HEADACHES, to which so many are subject, find a curative in thc case. There is a specific which" relieves at the time of tlie attack, and also one which cor rects the condition of the system upon wliich it depends, aud so destroys the predisposition to a ret urc. The specifics for the various forms of FEMALE COMPLAINTS have proved invaluable. Old long standing LEOCORRHCEA or WHITES, attended with debility oi exhaustion, aud for which other forms of medicine are of little value, are fully controlled and cured by the FEMALE PILLS, while the specific for ii:ke;c i.auities control slmost every form of SCANTY, PAINFT'L or IltrEGL'LAIt men struation. DIARRHOEAS AND SUMMER COMPLAINTS in adults or children are controlled like magic by the Df aruhcoa Fills, while it may bj averred without the possibility of successful contradiction that the Dxsevtev Pji.ls are thc most perfect Specific for that disease known. For thc various forms of FEVERS, SCARLET FEVER, MEASLES, aud other diseases of children, the Feveu Pills may be safely and surely .relied upon. These Specifics are the prescriptions of Prof. HUMPHREYS, used for years in his extensive practice, an 1 to the perfection of . which he has devoted the resources of extensive knowledge, experisnce and study. The public may rest assured that during the lifetime of Dr. II. no one has been or shall be intrusted with thc preparation of his Specifics, and he offers the guaranty of his professional life aud reputation that they shall be just as he rep resents them. They have now been before the public for five years, and hayo cverj where won golden opinions from the many thousands who have used them. Simple, free from intricacy, technicality, or danger, they have become the ready recourse and aid of the parent, traveler, nurse, or invalid, and have become the family physician aud medical aiviser of thousands of families. Nowhere have they been tried without having been approved, and their highest appreciation who have known them longest is among those and most iuti mately. -" Every family will find these SPECIFICS all they have been recommended ; pp.ompt," relia ble, simple and eeeicacious ; often a friend in need and a friend ivdeed. - LIST OF SPECIFIC REMEDIES. MORSE the inventor of MORSE'S INDIAN ROOT PILLS.' This philanthropist has i-pcut the greater part of his life in traveling, having visited Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as North America has spent three years among the Indians of our Western country it was in. this way that ihe Indian Root Til's were tir.-t discovered, Dr. Morse was the liitt iTian to es tablish the fact that all diseases arise from 1M PURITY OF 'i HE BLOOD that our strength, health and life depeuded upon this vital lluid. When the various passages beecmc clogged, and do not act in perfect harmony with tLe dif ferent functions of thc body, the blood loses its action, becomes thick, corrupted, and diseased ; thus causing all ains, sickness ami distress of every name ; our strei gth is exhausted, our health we ate deprived of, and if nature is not assisted in throwing oil' the stagnant humors, the bkod will become choked aud ceaoc to act, and thus our light of life will forever le blown out. How in.poitant then that we should keep the various passages of the body free and open. And how pleasant to us that we have it in our jiower to put a medicine in your reach, namely, Morse's Indian Root Pills, mai.ufacHired from plants and roots which grow around the mountainous chfla iu Nature's Garden, for the health and lecovery of diseased man. One of the root from which these pills are made is a Sudorific, which opens thc pores of the skin, and assists Nature iu throwing out the fiuer parts of the corruption within. Tho sccoud is a plant which is an Ex pectorcnt, that opens aud uuch-gs the passage to the lungs, nnd thus, in a soothing manner, per forms its duty iu ttrowing off phlegm, and other humors from the lungs by copious spitting. The third is a Diuretic, which givis double wise aud stiength to the kidneys ; thus encouraged, they draw large amounts of impurity from the blood, which is then throwu out bountifully by the uri nary or water passage, and which cuidd Uot have been discharged in any other way. The fourth is a Cathartic, and accompanies the other prop erties of the Pills while engaged iu purifying tho blood ; the coarser particles of impurity which cannot pass by the other outlets, are thus taken up aud couvtyed oil" iu great quantities by tho bowels. From the above, it is shown that Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills not oLly enter the stomach, but become uuiled with the blood, for they find way to every part, aud completely rout out and cleanse the system from all impurity, and tlie life of the body, which is the bloody becomes per fectly healthy ; consequently all sickucss aud pain is driveu from the system. fr they' canuol remain when thc body becomes so pure and clear. The reason v hypcop'e aie so distressed when sick, aud why so mauy die, is because they do not get a medicine which w ill pass to the afflic ted parts, and which will ojeu the natural pas sage for the disease to be cast out; hence, a large quantity of food aud other matter is lodg ed, and the stomach and intestines are literally overflowing with the corrupted mass ; thus un dergoing a disagreeable fermentation, constantly mixing with the blood, which throws the cor rupted matter through every vein and artery,' untd life :s taken from the bxly by disease. Dr. Morse's PILLS have added to themselves victor upon victory, by restoring millions of the sick to blooming health and happiness. Yes, thorn ands who have been racked or tormented with sick ness, paiu and anguish, and whose feeble frames have bi'en scorched by the burning ele.i.ents of raging fever, and who have leu brought, as it were, within a step of the sdeut grave, now stand ready to testify that they would have been numbered with the dead, had it not lceu for this great and wi'nJeifuI mcdiciLe, Morse's In dian Root Pills. After one or . two dotes had been taken, they were astonished, and aW.lutely surprised, ,in witnessing their charming; effects. Not only do they give immediate ease and strength, and take away all sickles, pain and anguish, but they at e.nce go to work at the foundation of the disease, which is the blood. Therefore, it will be shown, especially by those who use these Pills, that they will cleanse and purify, that disease that deadly enemy will take its.fiight, aud the fimh of youth and beauty will again return, and the prospect of a long and happy life will cherish and brighten your days.
